This is a very detrimental trope that Americans live with. You think you're better humans because you live in an urban area. You've had a particular education, though it doesn't have to be special amongst your peers. Rural folk are the lifeblood of this country. The rest of them are just rural. Cities are superior in every way. They are more efficient and use of resources. It costs $2-4m per mile to build roads and $100k per mile to build electricity and water pipelines. No rural area could even have electricity or roads without being subsidized by cities. All rural people are welfare queens, suburbs too. The absolute best way to structure a society is 6-10 story stone buildings with retail on the ground floor and residential above, building on navigable water ways with cargo moved by water and people by air travel. There should not be a single road or train track. Rural places should look like they did 500 years ago with gremlins living in hovels. Cities are actually the only thing that gets protected. During the Ukraine War, everyone fled the rural areas for the safety of the city. Troops coming upon your isolated house in the country means your wife and daughter get raped and then you all get killed by a small team of soldiers. Cities have subway tunnels and bunkers for people to survive bombings in, they pool resources for defense.
