How did America gain the Gulf Coast and what did Mexico get for the deal?
>Mexico leaves Spain
>Texas leaves Mexico
>Texas joins America
Mexico gained independence, Texas gained independence, then America gained both Texas and the American Southwest

Mexico gained the ability to cross the southwestern border essentially at will, because it would be Chinese property today if the Mexican military were the ones protecting the west coast instead of ours.

at the time Mexico "got" not being destroyed. Our troops were in Mexico City

How are Americans so ignorant about their history? The lands you got were sparlsey populated frontier lands where even the local "Mexicans" had no Mexican identity as it was a new country

>even the local "Mexicans" had no Mexican identity as it was a new country
the Mexicans here will tell you that because the Mexican state declared them to be Mexican following independence, that those people, regardless of identity, culture, or race, were Mexican in perpetuity. Essentially some Chinese "Everyone is and has always been Han" shit applied to the colonies that Mexico stole from Spain.

They were fortunate that Congress hated Hispanics and Catholics, otherwise they would been annexed to the Yucatan, including Cuba. Coulda been fucking kino.

would have been better off if we had done this since so many of these people have ended up migrating to our USA anyway. They may have been able to stay where they were in this timeline. And Mexico would likely be a permanent rump state unable to cause the kinds of problems it does in our timeline. Polk was a visionary, even if he didn't know it.

Another stupid & ignorant "analysis" by a cracker

>Mexico leaves Spain

We were never Spain. We were a different kingdom within the Spanish Empire. So was the peninsula. And we didn't "left" the empire. It was broken up because spaniards & their kings were so bad at finance that they ended up drying up the piggybank (Mexico) so the whole thing became unstable. Napoleon invading Spain was the last straw.

> Texas leaves Mexico

Millons of subhuman slave-owning anglo squatters started to arrive to these territories, which were sparsely populated (since Spain left us dry, there was no money to creater an army & drive away the comanche so people didnt want to settle the north), overwhelming the mexican population

That is not something which can be considered heroic or "faustian", but more of the likes of sunhumans like jeets

> Texas joins America

Texas properly was a tiny republic, most of the world recognized that the disputed territories were mexican, then James Polk, sent some soldiers and the mexican army rightfully killed them since they were invading Mexican land

The rest is history. A crippled Mexico couldnt win against a country that had an demographic boom & stability since 1776. But we did what we could.

Texas, Nuevo Leon and Coahuila should be its own independent thing. We don't like you, desu I don't think we ever liked you. To me the rest of mexico might as well be guatemala. I can't even tell the difference you're all short, squat built, fat and dark skinned.
