I live in a small town in California that has a dollar general in it. We've got a corner/ liquor store that is its competition kinda but it really hasnt hurt them. Ran by a Syrian dude so im sure he makes his money in other means.
I like them because I don't have to buy stale bread from him and if I need anything small and stupid it beats driving back and forth to town for more than an hour.
