Something is off about these riots. The police are shielding migrants and transporting them to safety, but aren't confronting or trying to curtail the rioters. From the videos we've seen, the rioters seem to have free reign over Belfast. The numbers don't seem that great either, only 100-200 people. Why aren't the police stopping them? There are around 6300-6400 police and ~1230 soldiers that can be deployed to Belfast, so it begs the question, why have they allowed rioters to go around removing migrants from houses and setting fire to houses and shops?
