I'd probably just choose a Chinese car with one of those amazing EV batteries, but they don't sell them here. As for gear I'd just suggest a 22 rifle, a leatherman, rope, lots of rice, a decent container for water, sleeping bag, tent, matches/lighter, hand axe, a few sets of clothing, a tarp, a hand crank flashlight/radio and a shovel. Though you'll probably have to make trade offa consider what you can actually carry in your pack and how much it weighs as if shit did go down expect to do a ton of walking.
