But he tethered islam to established religions in order to gain more authority. Mohammed (piss be upon him) could not read, which means that he could not have actually engaged with the biblical texts on which the qoran relies on so heavily for legitimacy. The only thing mohammed (lived 500 years after Christ by the way) knew about Christianity he got from the heretical sects of christianity such as the arians who, yes, had a misguided view of Christianity. Its no wonder that he bases his theology on the idea that Christianity has been corrupted/misguided, when your only interaction with Christians are the corrupt and misguided ones. If the bible is true then there was no need for Islam and therefore it is false.If the bible is false than the theological underpinnings of Islam are also false. The greatest example of this is how islam deals with Jesus. In Islam Jesus is just a prophet, and a 'great teacher'. But Jesus claimed to be God, which muslims deny. How can someone be a great teacher and a liar or confused about something as significant as 'I am God'? Islam is full of contradictions. Debating these things with muslims is basically impossible. They rely on faggy liberal institutions declaring any criticism of their religion as 'offensive' to silence debate, and when they can't do that they will murder you for speaking against their religion. Islam is the only religion that makes unlimited violence a justified response for offending it. Sure doesn't sound very secure to me.This is all before you look at what is permissable in islam, what is strangely prohibited and how muslims behave. Then you can look at whether their societies are any good (they aren't) and pretty soon you start to realise islam is the pantheon of a particular arab merchant warlord and islam is far more political than it is religious.
