Kale and Cassava are the only two I somewhat enjoy. The rest tastes like poison to me, and I instinctively avid them. Always have.
>>
>>536856731
Yes. But it's easy to get. 1 sheet of nori seaweed has over 1000% of your daily recommended amount.

if you have some genetic disease that predisposes you to be sick with too little iodine you should eat more
if you get sick from too much iodine you should eat less

Dulse or kelp are good. Nori is just so easy to get everywhere now. I haven't seen dulse outside of "health" food stores in years.

It doesn't matter, there has never been a single case of anyone ever having thyroid issues due to vegetables. You would need to eat over 2kg of broccoli every day for months to cause any problems.
>>
>>536857062
Like all true Americans I eat my broccoli slathered in a buttery cheddar cheese sauce, as god intended.

Recommended Daily Intake: Adults typically require about 150 mcg of iodine per day.
Nori Iodine Content: A single sheet of dried nori (approx. 2 g) contains roughly 16 mcg to 43 mcg of iodine, which is about 11% to 29% of your daily value.

over 9000 percent i swear guise

I don't personally. I set a pan on high heat, totally dry, add in the chopped broccoli for a minute to get a bit of char, then add a tbs of water and slam the lid on tight while shaking it around. The broccoli flash-steams in 30 seconds, like a homemade pressure cooker. After that I add a little butter, pinch of sea salt and 1-2 cloves of garlic. The broccoli is nice and crisp but cooked through, without the farty, watery taste it gets from being overboiled. The garlic doesn't overwhelm its natural flavour either. I heartily recommend it.

"Superfood" is just "delicacy" in a new jacket.
Dogshit food nobody wants, upsold as a cultural experience to tourists who don't know better.
Lobster was prison food, then it became a local delicacy, now it's pop culture to boil the insect alive for optimal flavour.
Truly a satanic meal.
>>
>>536856731
I don't trust it. Why would we have evolved to need an element not readily found in the foods we eat? It doesn't make sense.

i havent eaten these greens in years and it will stay that way. the single one exception is when my mom cooks borsch soup, it has cabbage in it but it got cooked for the entire day so it doesnt really taste like anything at all then.

No shit. None of those people have thyroid problems FROM EATING VEGETABLES. Those people are literally in the lowest vegetable consumption percentile.
>>536857697
Because it was found in the foods we did eat. We evolved in proximity to the ocean. There were no humans far inland.

Plants are not food fit for our species.

"It is interesting to note that humans, uniquely among the primates so far considered, appear to have stomach pH values more akin to those of carrion feeders than to those of most carnivores and omnivores. In the absence of good data on the pH of other hominoids, it is difficult to predict when such an acidic environment evolved. Baboons (Papio spp) have been argued to exhibit the most human–like of feeding and foraging strategies in terms of eclectic omnivory, but their stomachs – while considered generally acidic (pH = 3.7) – do not exhibit the extremely low pH seen in modern humans (pH = 1.5). One explanation for such acidity may be that carrion feeding was more important in humans (and more generally hominin) evolution than currently considered to be the case [...]" - ["The Evolution of Stomach Acidity and Its Relevance to the Human Microbiome" (2015)](https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0134116)

I hope the researchers had the foresight to consider the fact that hunting 1 cow (or slaughtering one) leaves hundreds of kilos of meat out to rot in the middle of the day, every day.
The acidity isn't meant for roadkill, it's to help consume more of the cow as it decomps over time.
Wolves and other carnivorous predators have similarly low pH values for the same reason, a carcass needs to last.

For me, it's the stinky green flowers that are bitter.
It's not enough that they're stinky, or green, or flowers, on their own, they have to be the stinky green bitter flowers that smell like a gigantic fart when cooked.
That's how you know they're healthy, when they're the bitter skinky green fart flowers. Some guy said so they must be healthy.

Not the juicy red fruit right off the tree that I can enjoy eating raw that kids love and babies love and all animals love, not the juicy red meat out of the cow that babies and all animals and even herbivores love, none of those, the stinky green bitter fart flower. That's how you know it's healthy.
