If all of us buy it they will crash it for sure, which would be hilarious because it would be the end of the bull market. Count me in.

10 Years ago I was wishing I could buy SpaceX stock. Today? Meh.

i'm guessing it goes to the moon today. i'm just watching with interest, but i would buy and get out right away. that would probably be a mistake though because betting against elon has never really worked out.
>>
>>536921577
don't these always dump because the institutional assholes that were allowed to buy early take their quick profit? look at coinbase

>10 Years ago I was wishing I could buy SpaceX stock. Today? Meh.
i was going to drop 10k on tesla with my 'play' money when the stock was at $30. bought amd and znga and american apparel instead. as far as tesla stock is concerned i probably would have sold once it hit $90. the american apparel one is interesting because i dropped 20k of play money on it when it was at $1 then it dropped to around 50 cents for a while and then it popped to $1.50 and i got out. the company filed for bankruptcy like a week later.
>>
>>536922211
yes but this one will dump harder, since they've been tossing out regulations for ipos
>>
>>536922211
>don't these always dump because the institutional assholes that were allowed to buy early take their quick profit?
pretty sure there are rules against doing this. like a waiting period of 6 months or something. not sure about what >>536922349 said, but if the plan is to buy and sell right away, where do you put the money? investment firm
>let's buy 1B in space x
>then dump it on ipo day
like they've committed a lot of money in to space x. probably done lots of research. then they just dump it? for what? they have to move the money to something else instantly.

there's statutes for how old a stock has to be before general retirement type mutual funds and such can buy in, to keep those from getting ipo pump and dumped

so general retirement and mutual funds can buy in early and get pump and dumped now?
>>

Its more that the retirement accounts buy the indices and SpaceX was allowed into NASDAQ early. S&P told them to fuck off so the effect wont be as bad as people think.
>>
>>536923555
>for this stock, yes, apparently this is the only one they're making these exceptions for
why wouldn't general retirement funds and mutual funds do the same as big institutional investors?

I got 250 shares through Merrill Lynch allocated and set to buy. If $135 does go up quite a bit today, what limit sell should I tell my advisor to sell at? $170?

Rethinking and maybe wait for things to stabilize lower in month or so then buy more.
>>
15 days until they can be sold without penalty. Will just buy the dip in 2 weeks when the big sell-off happens
