You mean to tell me that NO ONE has made a competitor to this website?
Or if they have, it died in its cradle?
How? Why?

It is obvious that there is a lot of resentment towards the structure and integrity of this website.
And it is obvious that there is a huge demand for an open discussion platform.
It's structure is exremely simplistic and you already have the blueprint, much like how Kick evolved from Twitch. It wasnt some kind of 4D brainstorm, all they needed to do was a rough copy and take the good and swap the bad. The only real problem is marketing.

If I was a millionare this would be my first priority. Lock a bunch of smart guys in a room, kick them in the ass over how we can make a Reddit competitor with the best possible marketing. Get a bunch of streamers onboard to market the shit out of it.

I really dont see how this could fail. It's an open goal. An untapped gold mine waiting to get exploited.
>>
There are lots of Reddit clones the problem is getting millions of users
>>
>>536966643
that didn't stop reddit
with the help of Eglin AFB they simply created a fake userbase of bots
>>
>>536966643
Which ones? I never ever heard of them. Really shitty marketing which is half of my point.

Anyway can you link them?

It wasn't even englin, it was just a simple random upvote generator combined with being a pedophile haven for the first 5+ years with /r/jailbait and /r/creepshots
I don't believe they are as big as they are. They probably have a few hundred thousand Americans, a ton of jeets in their programming subreddits, and the power users with 10+ accounts make up the rest. The majority of the accounts are probably the same 1000 people and a bunch of bots

Reddit was pretty much always correct, always better than 4chan. That's why Epstein and Ghislaine tried to shut it down and still going strong with CIA transgender mods. 4channers are basically babies compared to its struggles. Site died after Chitwood post.

>>536966702
No. 4chan is Eglin AFB. Reddit was always true resistance you fucking newfag. You haven't even seen reddit in 2000s.

Your kinds will never replace the site cause you're rotten in the core of your souls.

>>536966812
No. 4chan has never been good in terms of anything that requires literacy and text based other than porn and lewd shit. Any kind of discussion is impossible here

However, the answer is 4chan withdrawal prevention center, formerly known as the psyops sommelier society. Certified & Designated by the Anons' Pattern Recognition Lab, Est. 2026. If you're getting tired of talking to same-shit-spam agitprop algo bots, you should just start building your own breakaway communities or if cba you can join my SX chat :

If short linke doesn't work : full-link picrel. Desktop use recommended : https://simplex.chat/downloads/
>Inb4 : “muh you glow”
No you demoralization shill. It’s only going to get worse if you didn't know already. If you want actual coherent exchange of discussion - talk about conspiracy theories, history & geopolitics, esoteric metaphysics, high-finance, 'insider here' posts and some banters and shitpost memes allowed, places like here and img boards are no longer an isolated layer where we can laugh at normiefags. We're not watching them. We are being watched. Discord & Telegram are namefag apps and privacy nightmare. SimepleX has incognito mode, multi-profile mode that doens't require your phone number needed to join. Beware : this chat is post-populist : that means you agree to disagee-it was normal for people to have different opinion.

Every single one of my hobbies was ruined by reddit.
>Knitting
Went from cool projects to pink pussy hats and Palestine shit

Somehow became an argument over palishits. I miss kayfabe when we didn't know the wrestlers opinions

All became lefty gun shit and praising Luigi

It killed off all the small niche forums too

Lemmy

Tildes

For someone who misses old Reddit (pre-2023), Lemmy is currently the strongest alternative by a fairly large margin in terms of activity, ecosystem, and Reddit-like feel.

Honestly, just use Lemmy if you want Reddit

Those are all big subreddits. Niche and more specific subreddits are bettter.
>Guns
Too broad. If you went to a subreddit about winchester rifles or hunting rifles you would probably have a better experience.

Websites that involve reading and writing are for 40+ year olds. You can see it on there if you pay attention. I've been getting b& from that shithole since 2005. It's gotten decidedly more conservative over the last 5-10 years and I'm convinced its because their user base is aging and not being replaced by newer, younger users. Its not because there is a shortage of faggot kids that reddit would be perfect for. Its that kids can't read or write. I wish I was kidding but I'm not. They just hate communicating in writing.

That's why there won't be another Reddit (or Facebook or 4chan). Kids hate to read. If its not scrolling ASMR slop, they aren't interested. There is no new young user base demanding an updated, non-boomerfied wall of text forum. 4chan has had more successful spinoffs because this place is a jewish shithole that bans you for actually suggesting any action that could affect the real world and some people really want to fedpost without getting b&.

I made and tried to create a competitor for this, specifically for solving niche little problems/questions that require community verification. You know, "What should Indianapolis do to fix congestion at the intersection of Main St and 2nd Ave?" or "What gene makes Bob Dylan's hair red sometimes?" (idk who Bob Dylan is)
My idea was to have the following features to encourage utility over, well, Redditors
1. Prioritize brevity - posts that overexplain an issue already posted get flagged as duplicates and get folded under the brief version of the issue as "additional context". "My dog doesn't let me walk him" would be a catch-all for people having said issue but describing it 10 different ways - this should ideally get caught before the duplicate is even posted via some kind of AI checking the meaning of the posted issue and comparing it to the database of existing issues.
2. Recursion - allow solutions themselves to have "issues" posted on them, where people challenge the solution itself or add that there is an issue if it is implemented. For instance, for the solution "We should add a licensure requirement", one could add the issue "Prices would go up".
3. One issue or solution can be attached to other issues/solutions. For instance, the solution "We should add a licensure requirement" could be added to any issue regarding an unregulated profession.
4. Random other features, like, ideally it would get massive SEO reach by having premade issues/solutions thought up by AI - AI is pretty good at thinking up basic issues and basic solutions that people look up all the time.

If any millionaires are in this thread and would like to fund this, please let me know and I'll carefully share my previous work on it. I gave up after a few months since I'm not really a programmer at heart.
Hope this gets made one day.

Have you ever been to StackOverflow? There is no post there under 5 lines long.
If a problem can't be described in one line, it's too personal/not interesting for discussion, it's more of an investigation. Reddit takes discussion, but redoes it every time - that's what it's competing against

I got permabanned from the site over bullshit bot moderation for wrong-think.
why there is no competitor? Yes I know Reddit sucks, but social media has been a dead end for at least a decade, if you discount the bots then its likely that reddit is dead, it could have been useful for making questions to certain gaming communities, but other than its worthless entertainment.

In that regard there is no reason to create another equivalent, is a useless site but intellectually deficient/dishonest people farming dopamine boosters.

>And it is obvious that there is a huge demand for an open discussion platform.
no there is not, there is demand for echo chambers, its an entirely different thing, in an open forum where the philosophy of a free market of ideas is implemented with true and sincere moderation then there will be almost no user base.

You are on track and I support your innitiative to create new platform but an alt-right clone of reddit is hardly the solution to reddit.

>>
>>536969159
One good thing about X is they let you block companies entirely so you never see their ads or content again.
>>
>>536966558
It has critical mass. Reddit is its content, and its content comes from users. But the content also attracts more users, which makes more content. The feedback loop.

It's kind of like, "why did nobody ever develop a truly successful World of Warcraft killer?" Because WoW had amassed so many users and such a backlog of content that no launch day product could ever compete with it to any reasonable degree.
>>
I think the psychology of redditors needs that type of website
there's no competitor because what would it be? whats the point of a reddit clone?
the whole reason reddit succeeded is because of group think, ban-heavy mods and controlling narratives etc
it's literally the perfect website for that type of person so there's no reason to change it
we have 4chan if you want to say shit thats controversial
>>
I don't know why anyone uses reddit. They ban me every time I ever post there. I got banned from R/politics, I got banned from R/worldnews. Those faggots don't want me there, they don't want to hear what I have to say. I'm not into echo chambers. I'm a contrarian. I'm only ever going to post to disagree with the OP and then I get banned. So Reddit is a pointless website, and I'll never ever use it and I'll always make fun of it and the cuck losers who do use it. You must be such a normie faggot if your opinions are tolerated on that fucking website.

Reddit still remains one of the top sites for when you are researching technical stuff about pretty much everything.
Just because there are popular normalfag subreddits full of ignorant fucks pysoping each other over some bs doesn't mean it's a bad site.

Sure some formerly allowed content is no longer allowed. If the subreddit was interesting enough chances are they made their own website anyway (r/watchpeopledie)

Here's how reddit works.
CIA agent posts a bold lie.
I comment that the OP is a liar
OP bans me so his psyop isn't ruined

This is why I will never ever ever use reddit. It's a worthless website. Any website that won't let me post is trash. My posts elevate any website and make it infinitely better. I wouldn't want to be on a website that doesn't have me posting on it.

I just can't stand liars who won't tolerate being corrected. Imagine if this interaction happened in real life. Some faggot walks in and says a bold fucking lie, and so you call the liar out on their bold lie, and they kick you out of the room for questioning them. If someone tried to shut me up in real life, I'd beat them to within an inch of their life. But I'm not able to find and bludgeon the faggot mods of reddit, which is intensely frustrating because I want to smash them to pieces for censoring me.
>>
>>536966558
You don't even need a website anymore.
All the posts can just be downloaded to software you make yourself with AI only need some decentralized way to pass around the latest database.

The web is basically dead now that there's AI and in 4 hours anyone can write a NATIVE client, not an Electron garbage app, and customize it however they want easily. All that's left to figure out is how updates should work and how to fetch said updates. We basically reinvented newsgroups

They then hate it because everyone uses it to post lolicon instead of causing a civil war to benefit China or Russia
>>
>>536968180
I think they are doing this to remove actual users because they just want bots and people's information for data sets
>>
>>536967854
The problem with Reddit and the alternative sites you listed is the mods. Once you have tranny mod the sub goes to shit. In order for there to be a Reddit alternative it would have to be more than just a clone of Reddit.
>>
>>536966558
The moderation turns it into an echo chamber.
>>
>>536966558
Well, most people of reddit just browse subreddits they're interested in. The fact that politics infects every subreddit is something they just bear with to follow their hobby.
Now imagine when launching your competitor, first what is the selling point? Usually free speech and no leftie political bs. Well this will attract those who wanna be politically incorrect and those types of "subreddits" will fill up on the new website, but that can only be interesting to so many people. What if I want a subreddit that focuses on a particular video game or some obscure hobby or whatever, well I go see this alternative website and there's no subreddit for it there, just politically incorrect memes and such. So most people just bear with reddit and let the politics seep into their subreddits.
