Given money's usage in modern society, it's a measure of control leverage. The asset to liquid conversion is irrelevant.

The fact is that it represents an inflated position in terms of power leverage.

The cool thing about humans though, is that we don't behave well in extremes of min-max.

Elon has enough "money" to pay for someone to kill someone else.
However, he doesn't have enough money to pay ANYONE to kill someone else, as for some there is no amount of money that can be offered to equal murder.

Consider that, all that over inflated power leverage, and many men can still say no.
$100 Bil to kill?
Nah.
I'm good Elon. Keep your blood money.

The elite pretend that anyone can be bought, but the nobodies at the bottom know that money only has value, if we give a fuck that it does.

You can always turn that power down, and make it mean nothing.
May lesser men scramble for the top of the crab bucket.
Real men aren't even climbing, because we made the bucket up.
It doesn't even fucking exist.

The american system is geared towards rewarding religious-preacher types. Like Mr. Beast and Kevin O-Leary. It's a consumer economy, so the most prioritized trait is the ability to sell, sell, sell. The guys who make billions all have a carefully crafted "look" and "image" that they present to the camera, and that's what activates people's tribalism to steer investment their direction.

The economy does reward intelligence and hard work, it's just on a much smaller scale. The inventor of a product might make $10 million for his work. That's a lot of money. But the guy getting the billion is going to be one of these smarmy grifter types with a big-personality up there on television grifting and schmoozing. It's the Mark Cuban's of the world, who produced nothing of value in their entire career, and just know how to manipulate people and ride trends.
>>
>>536973118
how many men could say no to $100 billion dollars if it was all set up to kill someone and all you had to do was press a button and there was zero chance you'd ever get caught. you have no idea who the person is. elon tells you press the button and someone you don't know and is not connected to you in anyway way will die and he will set you up with a cleaned and legal 100 billion.
>>
The top-job in our society is a Fortune 500 CEO. Those guys have apex-personalities, combined with apex-intelligence, and apex-talent. They are special people, a rare breed of person. They make about $10 million/year, the most senior among them might make $20 million as an upper-limit. This means that one of these special people is worth about 100 skilled professionals, which is mind blowing but also within the realm of possibility.

The problem is, it's not possible to work one of those jobs for like, 50 years, because you burn out after 10 or 20. You simply can't remain at that apex-level of the game for a full lifetime, there's always someone else to take your place.
One of these apex-humans, working 50 years in that position, MIGHT be able to earn $1 billion over the course of their life. That is the theoretical upper-limit on human earnings, in terms of productivity.

But if that's the case, how do people become centi-billionaires in their 30's and 40's? How is that even possible? Well if you look closer at the situation, every single one of these guys is exploiting something.
==========
Thesis: The free market works. But it only works when people behave as rational-actors in an environment of healthy competition.
==========
In other words, if you can somehow change this this, you can get "unnatural earnings".
1) Exploit avenues where people are not 'rational actors" (gambling, lust, drugs....basically any of the 7 deadly sins)
2) Find a way to get a monopoly for yourself

ALL billionaires are doing one of these things.

Let's go through a couple examples so you can get the gist of what I'm talking about
Elon Musk -- His game is to get in on the ground-floor of startups, and then act as a liason with big-capital and big-government to ensure that startup becomes the next big future technology. He gets to decide which technologies live and die. Casual investors do NOT have access to this ground-floor that Elon and a few special others do. It's an exploit.

Michael Bloomberg -- His bloomberg terminal got stock information a few milliseconds faster than the other guy, meaning you had to sign up with him or get frontrun. Is transporting stock information a few milliseconds faster really a value-added to the economy worth $10's of billions? The answer is no, it's an exploit.

The Mars family -- Goes without saying, selling addictive candy products removes rationality from the equation. Buying up competitors, monopolizing shelf-space. All anti-consumer tactics to inflate his own profits, while sending millions of americans to the hospital for obesity.

The Walton family -- Vertically-integrated monopoly, they own the production, shipping, distribution, and sale,. Other stores literally cannot compete pricewise because of this. If they simply broke this up, so all stores had equal bid for these products, then the Walton's fortune would vanish.

Jeff Bezos -- Amazon works as a "network monopoly". Just like the water pipe network, or the electrical grid. It's a natural monopoly.

It goes without saying, all these guys are heavily integrated with government and policymaking. They dictate the state of play of the economy. This is totally rigged and unfair. Any time they encounter losses, the taxpayer will make them whole.

These guys are like a cartel, a class of people unto themeselves, who have a religious belief in their own superiority as John Galts of the world.

stock value is fake value
if you think of them as shit coins, it's easier to see
a shitcoin is worth .0001, you buy 100,000, it goes to .0002, you think you've doubled your money. You cash out at market value
The first lot of 1000 sells for .0002, but the second lot only sells for .00015, and the one after that for .00012 and then .0001, .00005....
at the end of the sale you find out you lost actually money on the whole thing
stocks are the same way, only the first lot is worth the price listed on the exchange
>>
>>536976417
The fundamental, core mechanism, is the stock market. Through the stock market, you can make money just by "owning something". Holding a piece of paper.
You should make money through your work, not by "owning something", that's complete bullshit. This is why I argued for a 2-currency system. One currency would operate as earnings for labor. The other would operate as ownership-value, like for a house or a business. There would be one-way currency conversion. So you could stack up a huge empire of ownership, but that doesn't translate back to your ability to buy a Subway sandwich. In that sense, the ownership currency is just marking you as the temporary custodian for the asset.
The price of an asset in this market should not fluctuate, but remain relatively fixed. In other words, you pay $700,000 for a property, then you sell it for $700,000. Money in = money out.
Of course there's things like, property damage and such. But in cases like this, the damage is in the house on top of the property, not the title of the land itself. So that's a different story, that's something for the consumer-currency rather than the ownership-currency.

So if I pay for a house, I pay maybe $200k for the actual house, and then $600k for the land underneath the house. But that "title" or "deed" is purchased in the secondary currency I spelled out above. And I could only sell it for exactly what I paid for it.
>>
Yes innovators create wealth

This is why the left always needs other people's money!
>>
>>536976443
It's not fine but you are also retarded so there is no reason to even discuss it.
While there are problems, you don't have the brain capacity to comprehend them. Money is something only peasants deal with so they can figure out a somewhat functional way to exchange goods and services. It's something that let's people figure out a way to exchange their labor for goods.
At the top money is just an abstraction. Rich people are above money. Talking about how a rich person lost more than you will earn in your entire life in seconds isn't a fair comparison and doesn't really make sense. It only makes sense when you don't understand what's going on at a fundamental level.

Yeah but I looked this up myself. The top patents only pay out like $10 million.
Not $100 billion or $1 trillion.

Elon isn't in there invention shit. He's in there as a "big personality" capital owner throwing money around. He's not in the trenches coding, thinking of ideas himself. He's listening to other people's ideas, and then putting money behind them.
By getting privileged access to the ground-floor, he's able to decide which technologies have a future, and which don't. He acts as a liason between big-capital, and big-government, to ensure his chosen technologies have a clear path towards the big leagues.

So his role isn't "inventor" or "innovator". He's a lying, deceitful, mealy mouth salesman-type who promotes and sells, and cultivates an image for TV. Our current society is ruled by people like this. They don't create wealth, they just ride trends.

>>536972631
It's not real money tho. I.e. they're not in his back account, much less as real money. So this trillion could halve in less than a few hours if things don't go well, or even vanish completely.
>>
>>536976596
>The price of an asset in this market should not fluctuate, but remain relatively fixed.
I think it's necessary for me to explain this part a little deeper.

Let's say you pay $700,000 in blue-chip currency (or whatever you wanna call this special currency). You would be forced to sell for 700,000, exactly what you paid. But because land values can change, the next guy might pay more than 700,000 for it. The next guy might pay $1 million instead.
So that's a difference of $300k in this special currency. Where does it go? It doesn't go anywhere. It goes into the property, then back out of the property. There is no accruement, no gains made through ownership.

I would actually invest at SpaceX as a SPACE INFRASTRUCTURE PROVIDER at ~10 bucks a share if this very obvious manipulation at the state level wasn't happening. But then I actually checked their documents for IPO, and they declared space exploration a ~400 billion addressable market, while AI garbage was multiple trillions lmao

>invest
See this is the issue.

You "invest" your fake printed monopoly-money based on debt. Meaning you will buy a share and then hope the price goes up.
You did no labor. You didn't break the ground with a shovel, or do mathematical equations, or code anything. You bought a piece of digital paper, that paper went up, then you called it "earnings". That is total bullshit.

Money should be for work, not for "owning something". This whole status quo of ""investing"" your fake printed debt-based monopoly monoy is complete nonsense.

So what causes "speculation" in the market?
Whenever I make a buying decision based on what I think someone else's buying decision will be. That causes rampant speculation, because I don't know what's in your mind, you don't know what's in my mind, and I don't know what you don't know what's in my mind......etc. It's like a hall of mirrors, with infinite regress.

When you buy something with a firm value, like corporate bond debt, that sale is based on something real. I gave you $10k, you give me back $12k, and if your company is going bankrupt I risk losing my bag.

But general stocks, is based around "controlling the board of directors". The only people who have a functional use for this stock, are very rich people who hope to control or steer that company. So everyone trading this stock around, is basically jockying for position, for when the rich guy comes in buying everything up.

But that ignites speculation. Because I have to think, "what does the other guy think". And so you get the hall of mirrors effect, the rampant churning and burning. It's not valuation based on rationality, but rather mood swings and animal spirits. Making money this way doesn't represent value-added to the economy, it's another exploit. You are exploiting people's irrational emotions, mood swings.
