when you multiply both the top and bottom of a fraction by one number, it doesnt actually change the value.
1/2 is the same as 2/4.
When adding fractions together, if they share the same number on the bottom, all you have to do is add the numbers on the top.
So what you do is find the lowest number that both numbers on the bottom can be multiplied into. In this case, 2x3 = 6 and 3x2 = 6. So the left fraction gets both numbers multiplied by 3, making the fraction into 3/6. The right fraction gets both numbers multiplied by 2. Making it 2/6.
3/6+2/6 = 5/6
