The hostility from many countries for decades including the US with many conspiracy theories being geared towards them in an info war. They didn't feel safe having more kids, it's a travesty. The loss of life of IDF troops, Mossad agents, October attacks, etc. there has been significant loss of Jewish lives over the decades unfortunately and the future looks bleak for many Jews.
