what is the actual decent career choice in 2026?

my uncle's a high school teacher who's been teaching for over 23 years and said that nowadays the kids in senior year are more or less picking between two things: trades or medicine. a lotta kids who wanna be nurses (even men). he said when he started teaching you'd hear kids talk about all sorts of careers, doing arts degrees, becoming researchers, learning a second language, going abroad, you name it, but now all the kids are hyperfocused on just getting a decent career they can survive on. and i think they're going to get fucked in 10 or 20 years. the medical industry wants to aggressively lower wages and bargaining power for physicians and nurses, and it's very hard and nepotistic to get into. trades suffer from the same problems more or less.

it concerns and worries me. a generation of retards got fucked with 'learn to code' and now a whole new one is gonna get fucked again with 'learn a trade', not out of greed, but out of instinct to just be able to afford a home and family.

self-employment in an essential industry. not necessarily a trade, just something people need and you can do with your hands and that an AI isnt going to be able to do for a while. the key is self-employment so you have the autonomy to control your schedule and income. if you go join a union or something, youre just a wagie with tools instead of a laptop

Financial services, healthcare, social services

That’s pretty much it

Good in a sense that they recognize early on that the west is in a death spiral. Let the Chinese engineer new things. I’m sure TikTok has nothing to do with this.

smart kids. tech, finance, overall office jobs the entry roles are just gone. they're not coming back; it's been this way since 2022

Fuck financial services and social services.

A lot of jobs exist to protect from legal liability. Like people could get onto amusement park rides without help, but you need somebody to watch to make sure people aren't idiots and unbuckle themselves.

I expect cooks to still be in demand because most small restaurants won't be able to afford automation. We still need beauticians, construction is too customized to allow for automation, and we still need people to repair down power lines.

chatgpt is going to destroy bluecollar trades. This is where AI is actually useful. Giving you step by step directions to repair your car. AC. etc.

How do you spend your free time?

For some, yes, but you still want an electrician to install electricity in a building and to fix power lines.

How fucking retarded are you? Do you seriously think blue collar trades all boildown to basic residential work? Yes to low IQ and felons, sure, the real jobs are in specializations you try to pursue late apprenticeship or while being a jman.

Most states require Jman or Master as a legal license to even do these jobs, no different than a cpa, bar, or medical license.

You cant AI yourself into HVAC controls for hospital meds and organs, nor maintaining wastewater plants as a plumber.

No ones lying when they say trades CAN make good money, the thing is, these good jobs and niches filter retards. Someone with electrical and hvac can make good 6 figures maintaining fucking DCs(distribution centers) or a fucking walmart.

Coding and tech isn't actually that bad. The era of web CRUD slop is over, but asides from that eh. There's gonna be a big boom once token price goes up 20-25x in a couple years. A lot of retards thought they could get a 200k/yr job with 0 effort tho.

The highest paying trades I could find here were like instrumentation where you have to live in some frozen shithole in the middle of fuckall and even then it's only $50/hr. Most trades here pay 20-30$. (Idk conversion cut to about 60% for USD from Canadian peso)

Well thats leafland, only the south and a few other states are shit. Plus a lot of the high paying jobs dont get listed regularly on the usual places here. Especially right now, old timers riding them out. Yeah that job you said is one of those good ones though. Here the benefit is very strong job security, pay like that and higher, great benefits, and shitloads of overtime. The bigger money is becoming the foreman in those roles, or head of a team. These happen mostly internally.

By no means are they massive money jobs some degrees get, but most jobs like that in other fields require seriously hard and expensive degrees, and work. These niches are a good middle path with different pros.

Plus, think of it like this, $125,000-$150,000 a year in a midwest state which is realistic, is like $400,000 in a major USA city. We also have good trade unions.

Trades besides the nichest of niches wont beat serious degrees and advanced fields outside of successful personal businesses, but thats a whole beast of its own.

$20-$30 average in canada is like the shittiest trade states starting jman wages.

There will be plenty of jobs when we deport all primitives and restrict globalization of production. We've allowed late stage capitalism to go unchecked and it's time to out reasonable regulations in place. We don't need all these cheap laborers and cheap imported shit anymore. They're destroying our economy.
>>
>>537094960
Just the Whites do this “trades or nurses” shit. It’s part of the racial destruction and we’re being turned into a slave race.
