The jeet, having sat there for 20 minutes, is asked if he had any questions for me. He says "tell me how you used agile in your last job". I tell him that my last job was more of hybrid agile, but I had used agile before in my other jobs. He then got annoyed with me and said: "no, tell me how you used agile in your last job" and I thought did he not hear what I said or what? I tried to explain what I meant a different way, I said I have plenty of experience with agile. He said: "NO, that's not what I asked you" - there is a point where, and I could see the strange look even on the other guy's face where I realised this guy was a retard. And I just said to him, thank you for taking the time for interviewing me, I won't take up and more of your time, have a nice day. And hung up the call. What I found really strange about that jeet is that he was so insecure about having a jeet name that he legally changed his name to a generic "john smith" and possibly also so that maybe there's other reasons for the name change, maybe he has done bad things. And for the record, I'm not the type to ever be dramatic like this and leave mid-interview. But somehow this jeet managed to pull this out of me.

I joined the Navy and couldn't get promoted outside of certain jobs because they were pushing to have certain race qoutas in those rates, so I went undesinated, to help my mother, and a year later I could only strike AO as a thinking better jobs would appear, with an asvab of 95 and no evaluations that were bad, so I left. I had people come out of bootcamp I trained and eventually had them leading me within a week. One person who was in a school as a student hit e5 from e1 because she had a daughter and joined, but I had a mentally ill mother and was told I wasn't suitable for sub services at all. Then I was rejected from the nuke program after passing the test because I turned 24 during the application and couldn't get a waiver. I told them I was going to jump off the side of the ship towards the end and I got full disability, but the absolute workload put on me was causing me to physically breakdown and pass out. There was a point where my shop was so bad that they sent the people about to get admin separated from the Navy to us and they would get out earlier than us. During covid people just left in the shipyards to go partying while hard worker were essentially sacrificed to do everything and stand watches on holidays even if that meant working 72 hours straight. The stress from me clenching my jaw alone was 40% of my disability, not even joking. I walked on burning warships and responded to emergencies all the time with no awards. Turns out I was supposed to apply for my own awards? Mentorship was utterly denied to me on multiple levels.

There was also then flip side of this, a lot of hard working women were forced into rates they didn't want to do because they had to filled quotas but they didn't last long because they physically broke down or were raped or pregnant within a few months. Still women who wanted could get promoted fairly easy if they played their cards right.

I'm a blue collar ish construction guy. My company sent out an email a few years ago announcing they're trying to get a good ESG/DEI whatever rating to get more government contracts.

This translated to then hiring more HR roasties and a "DEI coordinator" who sends out emails and makes powerpoints about diversity that no one reads but I'm sure gets paid handsomely. And promoting two women to project manager positions who honestly aren't very good - one is nice but completely disorganized and the other is more competent but has a giant chip on her shoulder and takes any feedback as sexist criticism so I just avoid talking to her as much as possible.

This has raised operating costs significantly and we're losing smaller clients because we're getting underbid by smaller companies that don't have DEI programs. We're only getting projects from the government, public utilities and a few other big corpos that are also on the ESG/DEI bandwagon.

I'm staying for now because I'm informally apprenticing under one of my coworkers to learn underground utility locating. Once I've mastered that maybe I'll look for a new job.

I also actually like my coworkers they're mostly pretty based we can talk about /pol/ tier subjects on the job site.

And we know exactly how much we can slack off and get away with it lol. We don't feel guilty because fuck their DEI shit. If I go to a new company I'll have to work really hard and be on my A game for at least a few months to make a good impression.

I've been a software engineer since the early 2000's. I've watched this happen over the years. Slowly at first. Then all at once. Perhaps the biggest issue was the push to get more women and minorities into tech. The problem is, they either don't want to do it or they just absolutely suck at it.

But rather than cutting them loose and letting the talent drive, they just created a bunch of do-nothing jobs for them that, in many companies, paid more than the actual engineering jobs. The creation of things like "Product Owner" and "Delivery Manager" roles allowed companies to hire a bunch of women "tech workers" who do nothing but dick around on Jira all day while bothering the actual engineers about timelines. All while making 15%-20% more than their male engineering counterparts.

It's one of the main drivers behind why everything tech is bloated and sucks now.

I haven't been to a regular dr checkup in years, local offices near me are all indians. dentist and optometrists are still fine

One day he told a senior member of staff that she talked to much and he would put his penis in her mouth to stop this.
The 20 year old junior office girl rejected his advances and he told her he'd wait outside after he finished

All of this adds up and HR gets involved. Nobody in any position to do so wants to make these threats a legal issue so a case is built to get this man's contract terminated. I'm hauled into HR when they learn he'd once told me to fuck off.

These kinds of things went on for another few months until I suppose they had enough dirt on him to legally terminate his contract. I still remember him being escorted from the building after what must have been his final warning.

It's funny because I worked at UPS temporarily for a while.There was a skinny blonde white girl there who seemed to have a crush on me, but she was divorced and her ex worked there too- some kind of racial mutt with anger issues. I remember the women commonly gossiping shit like "men have to learn they can't be so picky!" or whatever. I constantly chuckle at that sentiment.
