There were literal gas lines under Carter with stations completely out. You could not buy overpriced gas if you wanted to. Learn history before making a comparison you’ve no idea how ass Carter was. He's much, much worse than Carter. Carter had a weak foreign policy on Iran but a lot of what he gets blamed for are things that weren't his doing. Stagflation had its roots in the 60s with LBJ and especially Nixon in 71 taking the US out of Bretton Woods and implementing price controls. Ford tried to tackle rising inflation too but was unsuccessful and everyone forgets Ford even existed.Carter was ultimately a good man who really ended up hated by boomers for his 'malaise speech' where he basically said they were all narcissistic assholes who were ruining the country.
