There goes the Gen Z vote...
>>537133822Why is he so weird?
Being against AI is like previous generations being against cellphones or automobiles. It's inevitable, so instead of pretending that it isn't going to happen we should be discussing how to best implement it.
>>537133906Fuck your couch
>>537133979Except it's the young people who are against AI. Old fat boomers love it.
>>537133822I keep seeing questions about what will happen to the 99% of the population whose jobs are replaced by AI>Are the elites really just gonna give us free money to do nothing? No they aren't. There's many possibilities for what will happen to you, all of them unpleasant.
>>537133979It’s only inevitable because you fags make it inevitable
>>537133822Bansu-san~...
>>537133979>It's inevitableNot if we smash it and continue to smash it.
>>537133979>inevitableYou're mixed up.Car and roads>Freedom of travel for the general population as well as goodsCell phone>Freedom of communicationAI>Takes ur job but does it shitty because it can't generate new ideas, can't do physical labor, takes extreme electrical power, and if it ever gains the above capacities everyone dies.
>>537133822only troons, troonlennials and leftists are against AI, based Nazi zoomers are decisively pro AI
>>537133822He's definitely not planning to run in 2028 lol
>>537134418>can't generate new ideas, can't do physical labor, takes extreme electrical power, and if it ever gains the above capacities everyone dies.It literally is going to find the cure for cancer, Alzheimer's, ageing, and everything else. It can code better and faster than the best programmer on Earth. It's exponentially accelerating fusion energy research. And it most certainly can do physical labor as you have seen in the past months of workers being forced to record their work using sensors to train AI-powered robots that will replace them. It's incredible there's still people as blindly ignorant as you. Your only experience with AI is probably used the free version of one in 2023.
>>537133822just a year ago miggers were absolutely confident Vance 2028 would win. now it's never been more grim lmao
>>537133822>just love companies that privatize the profits after socializing the costsNo. I either get my shares and dividends or they can pay for it themselves.
>>537134418Like the other guy said, even now an AI processes more information in one second than a human being does in an entire lifetime. All those other technological developments also took jobs away as well.
>>537133979AI literally puts every single job at risk. It's an existential threat to humanity.
>>537134724>processesAI does absolutely zero level 2 type thinking anon. It's more accurate to say that humans process more information in one second of critical thinking than an LLM does in its lifetime
>>537134724>an AI processes more information in one second than a human being does in an entire lifetimeYeah, but the process converts information into crap, you fucking retard.
>>537134724They made certain jobs obsolete while creating entire other industries, retard. A.I just takes jobs and is mostly used to spy on everyone because the PTB are all scitzophrenic.
>>537134750I agree. But if we don't do it, then China will, and theirs probably will be way worse. So it might as well be us and we might as well do it right. >>537134838>AI does absolutely zero level 2 type thinking anon. For now.
>>537133979e=mc^2+ai saar
>>537134418>it can't generate new ideas, can't do physical laborThe vast majority of humans can’t either
>>537134945Is this really what /pol/ discourse has become>>537134952lol
>>537134942So why did Trump invest a bunch of money into the hardware companies then pass a law stating they can sell the tech to china if we are all supposed to believe there is this super scary arms race with china? What a load of shit.
>>537134942>For now. You're just saying shit to sound smart yet clearly understand nothing about what machine learning is and more importantly what it isn't. We are no closer today to scifi AI than we were 5 years ago when ChatGPT came out.
>>537133822Republicans in government is like having a rich old dad who always says “No, we have those at home” and “Why? Because I said so”
>>537133822>Just shut up and let Alex Karp/Peter Thiel manage your life.No. I don't want oil slick man dictating whether I can sleep 8 hours or shit post on the Internet.
>>537133979Ok boomerKill yourself troon
>>537133822It's like he knows his political career is already over and he's just trolling now
>>537133979Personally I'd compare it more to a weedkiller. Useful, downright irreplacable in some contexts, but shortsighted over-use lead to the gradual destruction off many useful species from multiple kingdoms. Now there's an overreliance and the poisons are almost without alternative.AI, while powerful and full of potential, erodes society on many levels. From taking humans best past-time activity (making art) to enabling uprecedented levels of surveillance and control. What makes a society more than just a hive of randomly occuring interactions between unafilliated humans is our "social glue", by which I mean the activities we perform in our free time and out of our own volition with other humans (stretch your mind, this can be literally anything from a theater play workshop, MtG tournaments to plinking at a shooting range). This is what makes a society worth preserving to us, because the word "society" is always just an abstract, blank slate concept, that we fill with the colours of lived experiences (which then turns into the basis for our opinions on that society). With AI I fear the emergence of a bunch of "humans" who are human in a biological sense, but don't present any of the qualities that make one "a human". AI lets you create your perfect own world where nothing needs to change, especially you yourself. But stillness, non-development is an entirely alien thing to biological life and the human soul. And additionally what stake do such people have in building, maintaining or preserving a societies economy, culture or norms? The human that was never challenged on any idea and never had to admit fault or failure is fundamentally "asozial" (not-socialized, but in this case I like the german word). You might not realize it, but our societies always expect a lot of concessions in our lives. From the macro level (e.g. every human is expected to join the workforce) down to the micro level (e.g. white little lies of every day interaction to keep the peace)
>>537135459>From taking humans best past-time activity (making art)It's just replacing the corporate art that is already soulless It can't replace true artists making original heartfelt art from their soul>With AI I fear the emergence of a bunch of "humans" who are human in a biological sense, but don't present any of the qualities that make one "a human".There's already a ton of those, and there always have been Anyways, AI is either going to destroy us or it's going to propel us into a next-level galactic civilization
>>537135459ContinuationNot to say that's a bad thing or a good thing, but it's one of those facts of life you come accustomed to. And in the end they are lessons one needs to learn to act social and continue our lives. I'm personally not very fond of some things I had to endure during school, but they taught me valuable lessons about emotional control and how to use available ressources (especially the human kind) to the best of my ability wothout the other party feeling used. How would I teach all that knowledge to a 25 year old who just left his basement for the first time? I don't know, our politicans certainly don't know either and the AI can do many things, but a human it can't make. The thought of humans unable to reconnect to their tribe, forever doomed to lost, angry, lonely lives with only AI by their side scares me honestly.Pic very much related, interact with the world today if you can
bump
>>537135845>AI is either going to destroy us or it's going to propel us into a next-level galactic civilization>can't even answer how many R's are in a wordPeople keep saying AI as if this shit is in any way intelligent.>but scientists are using it to cure super aids!no, they're using a learning module that isn't made by jews to tell you how great israel is.
>>537137799It's AGI. We're not there yet (at least not publicly), but we'll be there soon. You're in denial if you think otherwise, I'm sorry to say.
only reddit hates AI
>>537137799> Its not immediatelly perfect at arrivalThe first car only drove 5km/u how can that compete with horses lol
>>537133906His whole life looks like AI slop made by jeets
They already have AGI and they're never going to share it with you. They're working on literally killing you without outright stuffing you and your family in a robot death camp. Once most of the population is dead, they'll magically unveil new tech that the elite can finally just openly play with. Why would they give you this shit when they still won't even give you a real replacement to oil or coal?
>>537134750Ai doesn't fucking do shit except add a level of obfuscation to the current job most people already have>Middle managers put Bots in between real people and actual products>Everyone has a bad experience and keeps trying to find a real person to talk to because the bot isn't doing shit or answering their questions>Middle manager has already fired everyone and made the company a billion dollars even though nothing works>Company has to have the government bail itself outRinse and RepeatAi isn't actually replacing anything, it's taking existing services and making them worse
>>537138968Yeah, because powerful AI isn't going to be for the benefit of peasants. That's the fundraising arm of the human replacement initiative.
>>537137933devolve moar.
>>537133822Any Republican would lose 2028. Vance in particular would lose by 20 points because an unlikable lardass with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

>>537134295onions green
>>537139458>Hurdur I know everything that's currently being developed Shut the fuck up, retard. Yeah, you can make a chatbot with some weighted natural language processing (what you think AI is) out of basically any language. You think everyone involved is just such a fucking moron that they're throwing a gajillion dollars and endless time at this for a scaled version of the MS paperclip?
>>537133979>Muh cellphonesShut the fuck up jeet
>>537137872>It's AGI.LLMs cannot achieve AGI. The way the technology works fundamentally cannot. It can get to a close enough facsimile of it to fool you though. But that just makes it a Mechanical Turk. And not AGI.(Someone should really start cooking up a "you will never be an AGI"-pasta, come to think of it.)
>>537133979Why exactly do we need to accept all new technology forced upon us?
>>537133906>whyBecause of you kike
>>537133906isnt he a s&b mason? hes part of your religion
>>537133822>Gen Z vote?
>>537133979>Being against flying cars is like previous generations being against steam engines. It's inevitable, so instead of pretending that it isn't going to happen we should be discussing how to best implement it.AI, how its going to work, how best to implement it are all being sold to you by the same assholes that tried to sell you on the MetaVerse, AOL, Google Glass, etc. All of it is majority hype. The big push at the moment is for these players to establish themselves as dominant until there's only a few left, splitting any profit. If there's no profit, they're all going to ask the government to bail them out. If you've ever heard any of these companies talk about how a massive failure was either "the algorithm" or "the AI was hallucinating", remember it was they who programmed it (e.g. garbage in, garbage out.) None of them know what the fuck they're doing and they're going to sell all of us out in the name of short term profit.
>>537140507So are you if youre a christcuck.
>>537133822AI is not going away. Even if the AI bubble bursts in the public sector, the government will still use it.>Muh sunk cost fallacyThey don't need to use their own money. Already billions of your tax dollars have been put into AI development. The government will continue to use and fund AI, and the funniest part is that the people that have been complaining about AI are paying for it.
>>537139760Not a single word written by humans in that screenshot.

>AI is coming, adapt or die instead of juSt wishing it wouldn't happen>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEkek
>>537133979So inevitable you have dedicate every resource on the planet to try and make it work. So inevitable you have to force it down people's throats via corporate mandates from monopolies and cartels and backroom deals with politicians bypassing every law that every other industry has to follow.

>>537133822He's right if he actually said this. You're going to have a very hard life if you're popping veins over AI.
>>537133822Everyone is going to support AI openly while they're in office. Why? Because a loss of confidence in AI means the tech bubble imploding, and it is MASSIVE. Nobody wants an economic crash under their leadership. Normal people only remember what happens, not why.
>>537141238His jeeta wife of course
>>537141897>speaking of popping veins...
>>537139982It's not limited by how much you spend on it, but how efficiently you scale the data Even Anthropic is just a series of JSON files Learn more about what you fear then it might not be so fucking scary and you might not think computers are voodoo magic
>>537140711You say that, and then there are threads on the catalog whining that boomers are selfish and need to hand over everything they've got to their kids.
>>537134243I can't think of a single piece of technology that had a complete inversion of attitudes towards it like that. At least not in my lifetime. Every other time it's been the oldfags who hated it and the youngfags who loved it. I'm not a sociologist or historian or anything, so I have no idea what the broader implications are. Just that it's really fucking weird.
>>537141982>Thinking a lack of funding in the civilian world will destroy AI.Again, billions have already been put into AI, paid for by the taxes of people who hate AI. Democrats and Republicans both will continue to do this because it benefits both sides.
Anyone who has used ai for more advanced stuff knows how basic and surface level it is. It’s like those old demo discs you got for playstation in the 90s.AI is shit and the complete and utter forced reliance on what is basically the world’s most expensive tech demo, both in resources and money, is hilarious. Even the fags creating ai robots are faking their demos, because ai is shit.
>>537142215>Boomers are retards with lead in their brain who are impressed with retarded gimmicks that impact nothing>Younger Generations like practical technology that can scale and improve their livesBoomers love shit that scams they're all indians at heart, it's why they love the beetles so much
>>537142361wat are u talking about? ai is badass in how powerful it isand look at this ww2 german antarctica ship
>>537142235Artificial intelligence is a fatally flawed concept.>how do I cook a steak???I can type "how do I cook a steak" into a search engine and get a reliable result written by a human. It's so easy it's thoughtless. People post their recipes for free as hobbyists. The new way of chat algorithms supplanting search engines is monstrously inefficient and expensive by comparison. Why is it even impressive? Because you don't click and change the computer interface as much? A laser gun is impressive because no brass is expelled but it's not exactly practical. And all this energy isn't even for good results. Someone used a chatbot to help him build a shed and all the advice for framing doors was completely wrong.>use a chatbot to do your work!>not reliable>much more expensive>not even better than humans lolThe more focused a goal, the easier it is to automate. Small businesses used to employ tax accountants, now they just use computer programs - that's efficient automation. The same goes for machine learning, focusing it towards specific goals like medical applications or physics modeling is great. But businesses now are in a gold rush, throwing up data centers wherever they can get away with it, because it is supposed that the demand for slop will only increase. People will get sick of slop. AI slop has a few benefits when it comes to image and video creation, you can get sub-par work for relatively cheap - for now. When AI has to turn a profit (investors demand returns) it will be so expensive it will see mass abandonment. Right now it's just a cash grab and business is booming.
>>537134838Except 99% of 99% of jobs isn't critical thinking, it's pattern recognition. So you keep some humans around to do the unique stuff and have AI do the gruntwork.
>>537142215it's because boomers are too fucking retarded to see that they're getting scammed is and young people haven't pruned their neurons to everything that isn't jew worship yet.
>>537142731Biggest corporate fraud in human history.
>>537142753You think the government would let us have access to the good AI? When AI is still here this time next year, are you going to say "any day now."
>>537142849you have to keep in mind that a random indian can call a boomer on the fucking telephone and say that they owe them $1000 and the boomer will shit his pants and immediately wire $1000 out of the country. because the fucking telephone said so.
Remember that Silicon Valley uses this business model>invent new thing better than old thing - uber is taxi 2, doordash is food delivery 2, AI is search engine 2 >nothing fucking actually new, just shaft the old business model and become a more aggressive middleman>get investors in on the new craze>use investor money to expand business model rapidly, HYPERSCALE>cost for consumer is at this point lower than profitable, you don't need profits thanks to investors shoring you upAI is currently nearing the end of this phase of aggressive expansion, get it while you can grok gen gooners>when investors come knocking, inflate the prices>hope your service has become an ingrained habit (NO DOORDASH? ARE YOU POOR??)>people suffering from brain rot (target demographic) now dependent on AI garbage to think or write anything>now you have a dependable market you controlThis is how they imagine their business cycle, maybe not individually, but that's how it plays out. Things will get stupider before they get stupider.
>>537143008
>>537143025The more focused an AI, the better it is. Something like Grok is impressive because it's an image generator stapled to a search engine engine so it can do two whole things. Generally I would say "you get what you pay for" but the hilarious racist AI may or may not resurface its head.Look at Chinese AI slop science! Wow! It looks so impressive! "If you can cheat, cheat," say the Chinese.

>>537133979Restricting the use of cars and cellphones have empirically better outcomes.
>>537139760Why do they want to build on farmland anyway? Why not build on undeveloped land?
>>537143436Whatever the public sees, there is a better version out there. Us peasants will not see it though. The internet was around for years before the public ever got to use it. AI is not a fad. It will still be here next year, and the year after that, and so on.

>>537144879https://youtu.be/X_nWKJg_D6QIt’s fundamentally flawed.
>>537145769>Keeps pointing out the AI the common people are allowed to use.Whatever we have, there is always something much more advanced. We just don't have access to it.
I cannot convey how enormous the AI bubble seems to me. The economy feels like shit, right? Well if you take away the seven highest stocks, the tech companies all pushing AI, then the rest of the SNP 500 is basically flat like you would expect for a pretty shitty economy. The wider spread are the real numbers, the few tech giants at top are total outliers basically unhinged from reality (the real economy). So stocks as a whole reach record highs and they say "the economy is doing great!" Normal stocks aren't even keeping up with inflation. If there's an economic downturn, people will need food, medicine, and a place to sleep. None of these tech giants are making any of that. They're really a consortium controlling online marketplaces however they can. Facebook takes a cut through ads and clicks. Google takes bigger cut.Tangent: Amazon has a whole list of moral violations in their monopsony. Amazon funds independent startups, then clone successful ones, and undercut the originals. Like if you set up a business in a town because the mayor funds you, then the mayor sets up his own business just like yours but cheaper and shittier but he controls all the roads and he never fixes any roads or utilities near your business, so all the traffic and money just flows to him directly.AI is largely a wet fart that takes vital resources like drinking water and electricity and turns it into cheated homework and porn. It's literally the worse deal imaginable, like the last thing any society needs in its time of crisis. Billions are being pushed towards lower learning standards and porn. Maybe AI porn is better than exploiting flesh blood women. But the students are seemingly the largest cohort actually using AI. All the corporate giants have figured out it's useless and are just using it as a pretext to pre-emptively fire people. This way they can seem competitive and on the cutting edge which appeases shareholders.

I can only assume that a large cohort of humans hate thinking. Thinking is probably some unpleasant or totally fruitless task.
