Following an investigation, authorities believe a 9-year-old boy and some friends were building a fort down the street. Police said a girl, who was Feigenbaum’s girlfriend’s daughter, damaged the fort.>The boy went to the girl’s residence and knocked on the door, according to police. Feigenbaum allegedly exited the residence, yelled the N-word at the boy, pushed him and then threw the boy’s bike as he ran away.>“The allegations against Mr. Feigenbaum are very disturbing,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin said. “Hate crimes have no place in a civilized society. Specifically, the prosecution will argue that the use of that racial slur is evidence that he was motivated by hate, therefore it's a "hate crime." His mistake was using the word "nigger." Now, he can't even use mental illness as an excuse for pushing the juvenile.
