>>537183615What might be more correct to say is that as the gap between what voters are demanding and what the TPTB (whose main objective is preserving their own rule) are willing to concede widens, they'll put more effort into 5th Gen warfare-esque obfuscatory propaganda against their domestic populations to confuse and distract them while quietly implementing authoritarian "technocracy". The new thing being not the phenomenon itself ("culture war" stuff has been going on for a while) but rather the intensity and sophistication of the techniques as AI-powered social media manipulation etc. renders the "political sphere" to be a hallucinogenic bizarro world of complete trivialities and algorithmically siloed echo chambers where everyone has inculcated in them an increasing sense of vague apathetic hopelessness spiced with occasional spectacles of the libs/chuds getting "owned" to provide a minimal drip feed of validation that "at least it could be worse"
