However we have stopped that a long time ago as trash simply began being collected in waste baskets and then through sanitation departments moved to a dump where it would be contained in a small area and buried. There's an Indian temple in my neighborhood and they throw their food waste on the lawn next to the garbage dump. There's always a huge pile of rotting food there attracting god knows how many rats and roaches.
