I tried the whole "talk to the manager" thing once and it just made me look like an idiot. I got my current job through a temp agency (I got hired on after working there a few months) and never had anything like a job interview and my work history didn't matter either. That's my recommendation if you're looking for a job that doesn't require some kind of real skillset.

I remember 10 years ago when I finished highschool and I was handing out resumes and often the women at the front desk would seethe at me and refuse to take it "WE'RE NOT HIRING!!!!!!!" and any business ran by a some minority would massively seethe at me when I asked for their name and number for a reference so I could collect unemployment thinking I was going to get them vanned by immigration or something.Cannot understand that mentality of being so hostile to a younger person just looking for work out of highschool, just take the resume, say thanks and put it in the trash silently there's no need to be a fucking asshole.Gen X and Boomers are straight up evil
