I loved something awful in 2005, and it lead me to 4chan, but I noticed this book on Amazon the other day and I’m curious what oldfags think about it.

If you ever feel bad about yourself, just remember that you’re doing better than lowtax
he went from the biggest e-celebrity on the whole internet to a guy eating a giant gummy worm on a livestream with three viewers before logging off and shooting himself in the head with a meme gun of such low caliber that it probably took him hours to die

It's the other way around. Something Awful raided a forum for hyper violent misandrists and trannies at some point, that forum infected them and eventually took over. They campaigned and coordinated to get mod spots all over the internet, which is how reddit went from the ron paul website to nigger fetish and trannies. From reddit, they were able to influence industries composed of people very likely to spend a lot of time arguing online - game devs, writers, tech guys, and so on. This helped create the woke cultural penetration. The anti pol. Though of course they've gathered many janny spots here too.

Goons haven't been relevant for over a decade unless you consider half the basedjack raids shitting up this board.

Is Something Awful still a thing?

It sort of (d)evolved into Tumblr in the mid 10s

Yeah we were there on SA in the before-time and made the first proto-memes on phridays
There's a big ass evolutionary gap between that and /pol/ memeing trump into office
Its like crediting flatworms for nuclear reactors, sorta but not really

I will say SA was on the forefront of exposing Reddit moderators as child rapists back in 2008-2010ish era. Turns out we didn't know entire governments were pedophiles so curiously SA turned completely gay and dumb after that. I used to play with a nice gang of goon bros back then and I tried to join the discord a few years ago and it was just trannies. Kind of sad. SA are become pubbies.

Do you have stairs in your house?
