>>537295680Honestly I see this as a good thing, we're dropping sanctions and rebuilding Iran, so we're effectively forcing them to open back up to the rest of the world, which means the Islamic government will lose influence to outside powers. The average Iranian isn't a jihadist. Those are the crazy wahhabists in Sunni Islam. A Marshall Plan where we help rebuild them and can steer them into a good direction via reform is the best way to approach this. We should have done something like this with Russia after the USSR collapsed, spending billions to rebuild them as a democratic state. Iranians aren't bad people, their government is, and honestly I don't give a fuck about Israel or what they have to say on the matter. The less rogue states, the better, especially when you can potentially convert it to our sphere of influence. Give them money, resources, make them like us. Show them Americans are worth dealing with. Maybe I'm naive but I think this could work, and it's something we should have done a long time ago.
