Iran has a 92 million population, gas, oil, minerals worth trillions, caviar, saffron, car, drone, missile and tourism industry. Etc.. Maybe Iran can instead become the primary forward operating base for US interests in the Eurasian space, doing so via the more secular and nationalistic IRGC elites provided they cool down their proxies, cut off Beijing and London, and focus on Iraq and Afghanistan for regional hegemony. Such an inviolable peace would allow for the restructuring of US foreign policy while retaining the benefits of it.
