It's a mixture of thirdies not being able to deal with their gay thoughts and needing to compartmentalize them in a separate "technically not gay" category, trannies encouraging it as adjacent to their own emasculation fetishism, and zoomer irony / internetbrain / porn addiction where it's simultaneously kind of a joke, a category they can get e-cred for participating in, and the impulse to engage with or appreciate such behavior in a fetishized way. There's also the issue of the traditional "gay" category being rendered cringe and boomer by LGBT shilling and legacy cultural [forced, over-]representation. And finally it's a byproduct of the "trannies paradoxically reinforcing strict gender norms" thing where instead of just engaging with their feminine side within the confines of being male they feel the need to articulate a separate category entirely in order to "truly represent who they are"
