In case you don't know Kuru is a prion disease you get from eating other humans. It showed up in tribes in Papua New Guinea due to them having ritualistic cannibalism. Kuru is basically human version of Mad Cow.Mad Cow was also sign from god how cannibalism is wrong, and cows got it from eating other cows. However because us humans forced cows to eat other cows god decided that we would also be infected from eating Mad Cow infected meat. Normally prion diseases from eating infected animal meat is not contagious like with scrapie with sheep. But god wanted to punish us for making cows cannibals.
