Rote memorization is rewarded, your reward system becomes dependent on approval from authority and consensus. Your own ego betrays Truth because questioning these facts is questioning your own merit. Strong memorization skills are often paired with limited worldviews, because the memorized data takes up mental space that is harder to rewire the older one grows. It's a cult for total control.
