We may be a net exporter of gas, but we don't have the infrastructure to completely replace the exports of the gulf states in the world market. They supply Asia with a ton of fuel, and we rely on Asia for many of our own imports. This co-dependence is why Xi was slapped down a few years ago by business leaders in China when he was getting more cocky towards the U.S. and making moves to centralize more of their economy, because them not having one of their biggest customers to export to would wreck their economy. Just the same as fuel costs going up for them would hurt us (not as bad, though, if jews weren't so greedy trying to squeeze a profit out of marking up the cheap shit they sell us).
