researcher finds almost 6000 year old DNA of plague bacteria, it's preserved well enough to confirm it belonged to the same strain that killed large numbers of Europeans in the Middle Ages

>plague seems to originate from South Siberian rat-monkey

https://www.mtvuutiset.fi/artikkeli/mullistava-dna-loyto-paljastaa-tuhoa-niittaneen-taudin-syyn/9355070

ancients Slavs living in South Siberia 5 500 years ago, were bitten by South Siberian rat monkey which started a local plague, the first known
these people were slavic hunter gatherers who had not yet tamed even horses

researchers found 5500 year old massgrave and several skeletons were marked with plague bacteria DNA

once people get bitten, they start to infect other poeple by touch but exchange of fluids is more effective, nevertheless the sole touch is sometimes enough

66% of the skeletons were not older than 15, the disease had killed young people more than elders

all of them had died within marging of 50 years (if dating is reliable, its hard to say who died 5500 years ago and who did 5550 years ago)

at least dating is reliable to place events as happening around 5500 years ago

yersinia pestis is still around

yes it has been going for 5000-6000 years

but humans are not its natural host
>>
It's a good example of herd immunity, all the humans most likely to die of it died of it, everyone left has some measure of resistance.
The only way the plague will plague us again is if a Big Pharma company does gain of function research on it so they can patent another "vaccine"

> it sounds like you might be referring to the iconic Sumatran Rat-Monkey (often playfully or erroneously localized as a "Siberian" rat monkey). This infamous, fictional creature is the patient zero of the rage plague from Peter Jackson's 1992 cult classic horror-comedy movie Braindead (released as Dead Alive in North America).

>>537373954
The rat monkey is a fictional creature from the movie Dead Alive. OP is a faggot.

The original English media story the Finnish rat-monkeys stole it from
>The hunter-gatherers probably became infected after butchering or eating raw marmots, a risky practice that still causes plague deaths today.
