States have generated more than $28.4 billion in tax revenue from recreational marijuana sales since the first markets launched over a decade ago, a new report from a top pro-legalization advocacy group shows. Some states, it points out, are now generating more revenue from legal cannabis than from alcohol. The Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) analysis also shows that in 2025 alone, adult-use cannabis sales generated more than $4.5 billion for states’ public coffers—the highest-ever total in a single year since the first recreational legalization laws were approved by voters in 2012 and topping 2024’s haul of $4.4 billion in state marijuana tax revenue.Last year, the report says, seven states each collected more than $200 million in adult-use marijuana taxes—with three of those generating more than half a billion dollars in recreational cannabis revenue.California alone collected over $1 billion in marijuana money to fund government programs and services in 2025.At a time when pressure is building on state budgets, adult-use cannabis taxes are providing relief,” Adam J. Smith, MPP’s executive director, said in a press release. “Legal adult-use markets have become powerful economic engines, creating thousands of new jobs and small business opportunities across the country. While economic growth and state revenues aren’t the primary reasons for legalizing adult-use cannabis, the positive financial impact is undeniable.”“That said, it is important to keep in mind that overtaxing legal cannabis can be self-defeating, driving consumers back to the unregulated, unsafe and untaxed illicit market, which is bad for state budgets and for public health and safety,” he said. “More importantly, ending prohibition has spared hundreds of thousands of individuals the trauma of arrest and incarceration.”>https://www.marijuanamoment.net/states-have-generated-over-28-billion-in-recreational-marijuana-tax-revenue-since-the-first-legalization-laws-took-effect-report-shows/

>>537378492Decriminalization isn't enough, all recreational drugs should be legalized. But users who knowingly take any must be:- Held to full accountability and be given no care or insurance for any resulting actions or problems- Be unable to be declared insane for the purpose of avoiding charges- Private companies should be able to remove service to them if charged- If caught under the influence while driving or operating equipment be executed. Also, apply the same thing to SSRIs and obesity.

>>537379184That puts too much trust in the public, you'll end up with so many tragedies that the people will demand a change. In a good system the people think about it very little, it's what we used to have before several decades of agitation from Jewish racial activists seeking to subjugate gentile society under the guise of radical criticism of each and every traditional institution. So after we replace the current system with national socialism (which is the only system that can stand up to the Jews) and remove everyone with nonwhite genes from our society, what should our drug policy be? I'm unironically in favor of the "bend so it doesn't break" approach where we take a hard line on the most important issues of race, land (blood and soil!), economics (complete independence from Jewish finance), and border security, while being more permissive of the various lifestyles our people choose yes including vices and peculiar sexual acts. It's the sober realization that a perfect society is impossible to achieve by force. HOWEVER once we remove the Jewish influence and produce generations of whites that grow up free from Jewish and nigger monsters I expect a lot of the trash behavior we see in the 20-somethings today to go away.
