I suffer from some bad slipped disc pain for about ten years now. I also have a severe case of OCD (not the meme type, actually crazy stuff) that ruined my life and sent me into deep sadness. My body started getting resistent to the dosage, so I increased it. I was already addicted, but had the usual excuses to myself. Eventually, I was taking 100mg/day and drinking. I had always felt somewhat guilty for being addicted, but I couldn't drop it. One day, I decided to taper it off, because I was risking my life. The detox was the most terrible feeling I have ever felt. A constant malaise, colt sweat, a feeling of your whole body being your enemy... I even had to move back in with my parents because being alone made me feel absolute dread. This lasted for about four months, but I got over it. However, the memory of the bliss that the drug used to give me remains, and I have to resist its seduction by remembering how much worse the period of detox was. Do not do drugs, please. Once you do it, even if you manage to get off it, you will keep remembering the good feels and be seduced to go back. It becomes another problem in life, and you will have to fight it until the end. Hear from my account, do not think you can control it, do not think you are stronger and different from others. Stay away from opioids and benzos, mainly. Your life can become MUCH worse, believe me.
