police can pull you over for being <160 ft behind a car? This law is bullshit. There is not a clearly defined length you need to follow behind a car on a highway. instead they give a 3-second rules that society cannot possibly accommodate.

>things I don't worry about on the train
I'm not reading all that, but I'm happy for you, or sorry it happened
>>
Only niggers tailgate.
>>
>>537493482
real cops don't pull you over for that
only the glorified meter maids
>>
>>537493482
Police aren't going to pull you over for tailgating unless you're swerving and accelerating and egregiously driving like a retard but when you get brake checked and rear end them you'll be liable for everything
>>
take it to the courthouse, they wont show up
>>
>>537493617
I had a bitch pull out in front of me one time and I kept my speed and approached her stupid ass quickly. She brake checked me so hard her car did a nosedive. Then she had the gall to bitch at me at the next red light. I wanted to kill that cunt.

Is this gen alpha or whatever? Even zoomer spam is higher effort than this.
>>
>>537493482
You rear end someone youre almost always automatically at fault. Learn physics
>>

>police can pull you over for being <160 ft behind a car?
Technically yes, but they usually only give this ticket if you actually hit somebody.
I could maybe see if you're literally riding somebody's bumper and road raging at them, but usually it's only given as the result of an accident.

Commercial Vehicle Code is NOT REAL LAW

Learn the difference

We have different laws you dumb brit

1 car length per 10mph.
>>
The distance is how long it takes you to decide to and physically start braking. Yes you are a shitty driver who is a danger to others. You should assume the other drivers are retards who are an immediate danger to you because they are.
>>
>>537493762
should have hit that bitch then drove off
>>
>>537493482
You need to either extremely closely follow the car in front of you - less than 20 cms, or keep the safe distance as documented in the law.
When the car in front of you suddenly slow down, it’s the accumulated momentum over the distance travelled between the two cars within your reaction time and mechanical limits of your breaks that kills you.
>>
>>537493482
You sorry ass nigger
>>
I can smell the cigarette smoke encrusted in the peeling pleather of your nissan altima with only one headlight and one brakelight that works from here
>>
>"No tailgaiting other drivers"
SAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
>>
>>537493482
3 second rule is easy to follow unless you've got a grandma riding her breaks with open road in front of her 10 miles under the fucking speed limit. Freeways more difficult because everybody rides each other's asses going 90 in the fast lane.

Go ahead and tail gate

I'll own the next 5 generations of your ass.
>>
>>537493482
I once got a ticket for "following too close" when someone in front of me slammed on the brakes for a green light mid intersection right after we started to go and I hit them. Did they get a ticket for being a retard? nope
>>
>>537493600
also pickup truck drivers
>>
>>537493482
>can't count to three
I bet you can count to watermelon.
>>
>>537493482
It’s generally recommended 1 car length (roughly 10’) for every 10mph so at 65mph, it’s recommended you be 6 or more car lengths from the car in front of you. At80 or above you’re going to want significantly more should the guy in front of you suddenly stop. Cops don’t generally pull you over for following to close unless it’s an egregious violation where you’re actually riding on the bumper in front of you or it’s obvious that you’re trying to intimidate the driver in front into pulling over so you can get by.
>>
>>537493482
nearly all laws say "whats reasonable" meaning cops and judges can do what ever they want
>>
>>537493482
op...how would you feel if you had beffist this morning?
>>
>>537493482
Shit, in rush hour you get cut off if there's more than 1.25 car lengths between you and the next guy. My survival strategy is moderately aggressive driving to clear the traffic clot if possible or hang back a bit if not so that I'm not on the news when some nigger weaving between lanes causes a 10 car pileup.
>>
>>537497062
I don't understand how people habitually tailgate whatsoever. Once you've been driving a while it should be expected that you have some understanding of what a safe distance looks like and extrapolate that to the current road conditions.
>>
>>537497113
If you read the law regulating the court itself it says the judge can ignore all regulations in pursuit of a just outcome.
>>
I can spot a tailgater even when their car is empty and parked.
>>
>>537493482
Because if I have to slam on the breaks to avoid smacking into a deer, i dont want to get rear ended by a 87IQ nigger who thinks driving like a mobile colonoscopy will get him home 10 seconds faster. If you drive like that, youre a certified brown.
>>
>>537493482
>"Following a vehicle too closely"
This is why everyone needs a dash cam so they can sue the lying cops for the illegal stops
>>
>>537493482
I got a "too fast for conditions" because I created dust on a dusty ass dirt road.
I got another "too fast for conditions" warning once that I still laugh about. I have no idea how fast I was going and had to remind the trooper that the speed limit in that area was, no shit "resume safe driving speed". He told me to sit still, went back and checked the sign that had been there as far back as I can remember. He came back with some story about needing to slow down blah blah and gave me a warning.
