>>537532421That's actually a Chevrolet 4.2 liter straight 6. It's a pretty good engine, but has some flaws. The aluminum block needs that big ladder bar over the crankshaft bearings to stiffen it. Thusly, you cannot swap out crankshaft bearings while the engine is in the chassis. Old school cast iron block chevys, you could do that. I actually have to do a job on mine, which is why I have that diagram. There's a connecting rod bearing towards the back that's beginning to tap. If I've caught it in time, I can swap out just the connecting rod bearing and save the motor. I can't bitch. That motor has 260,000 miles on it. Here's a photo of the underside of one.
