Politically speaking, would it be realistic for a gaijin with about $200K in retirement savings to start a new life with a trad wife in Japan or would the gaijin be reject by Japanese people?

You want to race mix with a zipperhead gook? Why? Because Japan has anime?
>>
Let’s say the yen is worth half of what your money is, it isn’t but let’s say that. Could you retire with 400k? With 400k you could pull out $1350 a month and never run out.
>>
200K is not much money at all.

Agree, but it is enough to start a new working life somewhere else.

I would still find a job. I meant that I would use the savings to pay for expenses while I settle.

You can get some derelict building in a vacant village next to nothing. If you're handy you may be able to keep the repair costs down.

I don't know about securing a living permit and learning the language fast enough to not starve tho

You will never be Japanese. Not in the meme way but in the real way that the Jap is the most xenophobic person in the world, barring the jew. No Japanese woman of any value will want to do anything more than date you for a while before moving on to her own kind, and any of them who want to stick around will likely be the worst examples of their culture, physically, emotionally, and financially abusive to both yourself and any children you might have. Further you don't have enough money to attract even a principled gold digger. If you're really set on moving somewhere else for self reinvention I'd recommend south east asia or maybe south America. You'll still be an outsider but at least your money will go farther. Plus they're way more welcoming of weird, loner white boys.

Hi OP
I did this, so you can ask me, the expert on this subject.
>would the gaijin be reject by Japanese people?
It depends on you. You have to meet the requirements.
Not fat.
No tattoos.
Not loud.
Not obnoxious.
You don't raise your voice, especially in public.
You are clean and don't smell bad.
You follow the rules (no talking on phone on train/bus, etc)

And there will be a series of unspoken tests you need to pass to see if you are "Japanese" enough. For example, at the Japanese embassy, when you applying for your first visa, will you show up early? When you reach the window and no one is there, there's only a button to press "Ring bell for service." You press it but hear nothing. Do you press it again or do you wait patiently? Two minutes pass, do you press it again or do you wait patiently?

You will be accepted if you clearly want to integrate into Japan. You don't show up thinking you're there to "improve" Japan by "correcting" their ways. You will encounter things you would never see outside of Japan, and how you react can make a big difference. In time, you'll begin to realize their approach to things generally works better than the way you were doing them.

Don't be that gaijin who thinks Japanese are being condescending to you after one tells you how impressed they are with your ability to use chopsticks... something you've been told 100 times already. Instead be gracious, and tell them the story of how you learned to use chopsticks. Don't be that gaijin who only eats at Burger King instead of trying Japanese food, or at the very least, going to Mos Burger. Don't be that gaijin that hangs around with other gaijin. You didn't go all the way to Japan just to talk to gaijin all the time.

Me, I'm loved like a celebrity. Random Japanese people in my town will approach me and give me gifts of daikon and want to practice English with me.
