Is it because of all the gooning to tranniedicks? Why are men watching other men naked? Why are they fags?

This discussion again?
Pop open the hood of any car made past 2016 see if you can fix anything retard.
Everything is sealed, there's nothing to be repaired.
When a part breaks they replace it in service aswell.
They make everything is such a way that they can't be fixed
>>
Because everything is proprietary and electronic now retards, you can't fix shit without credentials
>>
>>537526010
> Relying on a pump jack to keep the car up.
I too used to wrench on my cars. Then I got kids and a job. I don't have time to do it. My hourly rate is also higher than a mechanics so it makes financial sense to outsourse it.
>>
>>537526010
Nigger, how long have you been working on that car? Why isn't it fixed yet?

I replaced the suspended ceiling in my office last week.
Cleaned the fame, replaces the dirty panels with higher quality ones and replaced the harsh spotlights with nice soft LED panels.

Shit was a lot more work than I imagined.
I think I would have hired an expert if I knew in advance.

I quit doing all that shit. When I was a kid me and my dad built a 79 K5 Chevy Blazer for me. It was fun. He always had old trucks and hot rods we would work on. Now, I just get new cars every few years and the dealership takes care of them. But, I just bought an 85 K5 Blazer and I'm about to start working on it with my son.
>>
>>537526118
then don't buy new vehicles, faggot. there is no feature on a car made after 2000 that you cannot live without.
>>
>>537526200
so your kids are gonna grow up *not* knowing how to fix shit because dad thought he was too cool for school. good job, faggot.

>Muh hourly wage
>It makes financial sense to pay someone else
I hear this response so often, even IRL, and it's always the most braindead faggots that say it. Are you on the clock getting paid 24/7? Do you not have any free time for yourself? Do you have any hobbies, or do you pay someone else to have fun for you too? Do you not take pride in your work, and being self sufficient?

But because if Obama and his cash for clunkers shit cars from before 2000 are rarer and rarer by each passing year. Like that program fucked the used car market and is also why so many people got fucked out of having a POS first starter car
>>

>I just bought an 85 K5 Blazer and I'm about to start working on it with my son
nice. pass that knowledge along. all 3 of my children know how to work on cars and motorcycles, as well as program computers and make music. sharing what we know with our children is one of the most important things we parents can do.
>>
>>537532123
you're not wrong. that was one of the worst things in the world. but, you can still find great deals, since so many people have zero interest in working on old vehicles, there's less competition to buy them up when they go up for sale.
>>
>>537532188
I've taught my three sons music since a young age and wood working, but we've never done much mechanical stuff. I was a home builder, so they've learned a lot of construction, but we've never worked on cars. That's why I bought the old Blazer so he can learn. But, it's been 20 years since I did any of this stuff too. So, we're both gonna be learning I beleive.

pretty good thanks fren. got a nice truck route coming up the next little while. good money, predictable and i get to go to the US. theres often something goes wrong with the trucks so i'll need to pick up a few fix-it tips as time goes by.

do you work on your car every weekend ?

theres a few western stars and internationals around. the one i was running recently had CAT engine. C15 i think, so about 15L and around 500hp depending on hows its been set up. strong enough to move 53 tons around anyway

ah yeah, those can be a nuisance.
>>
>>537526010
>time vs money vs knowledge
If I had the money I would hire someone else to fix as much shit as possible. Unfortunately I don't so only if it's something way out of my depth I pay someone else to fix, otherwise I do it myself or let the list of things to be getting on with grow.

I fixed my car the other day. Actually it spread over 3 days. The Chink on YouTube said it would take ~15 minutes. Took me 3 attempts over 3 days and at least 4 hours.
And I couldn't get one bolt back in at all so I only did 2.
Working with your hands is low class garbage.
>>
>>537535992
i guess you could try grinding a flat surface on opposite sides so a wrench or grips can clamp on. if you did it on a short bit at the end you'd still have plenty of length left for an easy out if that doesn't work
>>
>>537536419
Yea it always takes longer. Thats the fun part, try to not cry when a bolt snaps off at the very end

I am lazy as shit and will wait until it *has* to be done or randomly do like six things in one day.

I hate doing deep mechanical things because I can find a new shitbox that just has an electrical fault for 500 bucks and drive it for 50k.

I have two crvs and I need to swap the transmission and its been sitting for a year since im just like.... fuggggg
>>
Didn't do my research at the time and bought rear brake pads and rotors. Didn't realize front brakes are used more. Have to wait a little while longer before I buy front pads and rotors.
Found a bunch of oil filters on sale, but none that I needed.
>>
>>537539421
I fucking hate exhausts and I'm always having to fix them. 95% of all the welding I have ever done involves being squished under a car barely able to move with a flashlight in one hand and the welder in the other trying to weld something at some impossible angle in an impossibly tight space. I learned the hard way more than once not to start cutting up or dropping the exhaust unless you absolutely have to because you're going to make it break somewhere else.

>>537526118
