This prison is literally an economic machine. I didn't realize just how insanely instrumental this prison is for generating wealth until I looked into the facts. The thesis is that even though the prison cost $400m to build, and a lot of operational expenditures, it saves BILLIONS by locking up violent criminals. Not only do violent criminals cost society billions in direct crimes (murders, robberies, extortion), but the very threat and fear of criminals acts as a blanket tax on all production. People won't start businesses because of fear of gangs, that's a real cost on the economy. People don't work and save money because they know they'll be extorted by a gangster, that is a real cost on the economy. El Salvador becoming a safe country will bring tens of billions in wealth to the people.This isn't up for debate, these are FACTS. This is literal proof that government spending and projects can generate wealth for society. In other words, socialism can work.
It is a death camp. They don't put all nutrients needed by the body in their food, so people there get sick and die.
