Ok, I did your dumb experiment and checked google maps for the finnish side and russian side, and there's just a lot of woods and a few rustic houses and a few farms. Alot of roads are unpaved on either side.The closest medium sized town near the border look.. ok

First world is not a wealth thing it's the western European world. Even if Russia surpassed us it would still be the second world. Its colloquial use is wealth, but its technical definition is related to alliances and geographic alignment. The third world was anyone not important enough to be associated with the current power or the rising one.
