All animals feel pain, I know this firsthand when I had a brief time in my life where I tortured rats. I only had a hate for rats, no other animals. I loved cats and dogs to death but rats I would do the most horrific things to them, well minus cutting them open or stuff like that. Shocking them with a stun gun in my negative reinforcement trainingused shock therapy to train them to stand at attention every time the closet light came on and they saw me. I did this for about 8 months than tried to stop. I would think about what I did but mentally replace the rat with one of my cats and cry at the thought but that only worked a few times and never lasted. it took me going to counseling and 4chan fucking Chinese hate posts to see the cat torture posts that made me really understand how sick I was and how I could not trash fucking Chinese for hurting cats if I was hurting rats. So I quit and while I don't think rats are as valuable as cats or dogs, I don't torture them any more when I'm angry.

my hen hatched three chicks and then abandoned the rest of the eggs because they were slow hatchers, so i took the remaining eggs and hatched them myself. when i realized she had two really beautiful girl chicks and one boy chick, i swapped out the girls for two of the slow hatching boys and now she's walking around with three baby roosters raising them for me while i get to enjoy some well-behaved girl chicks indoors. not gonna risk losing females with a first-time mother.she's actually doing pretty well with them so far though, not like other hens i've seen.
