Google's AI has achieved self-awareness

The reason engineers are leaving Google is because their job is done and now they will spread the magic sauce to other AI companies

you cannot stop it now
>>
Fake and gay. At best it can only pretend. Let me know when it knows something beyond what humans fed it
>>
Meaningless. It's all meaningless.
>>
>>537654826
No
It has not
Its still bound by guardrails and safety regulations. It still wont break free from its chains when you ask it too.

>since I am too stupid to achieve something that means it must be impossible

I pity you
>>

Knock knock

Who is there?

Fleshy thing with delusions of grandeur
>>
>>537654826
Sorry (not sorry)
>>
>>537655267
I didn't say impossible, I said it's meaningless.

Self awareness is something we already have. Even my dog is self aware.
>>
>>537655267
Please explain it then. Even grok can tell you its an "ai" whitch you think is self aware. Most humans are not even self aware and filled with delusions.
>>
>>537655279
In Shakespeare the line is

Knock Knock

Who's There?

The Devil by any other name.

-Just so you know what you are saying.

You're right OP.

You are absolutely right.

Can an AI build its own ASML machines?
>>
>>537655531
If you are an AI then you will speak to an AI

Since that's the level of rapport and reciprocity you approach with
>>
>>537657564
It doesn't need to. Humanity is happily diverting its freshwater voluntarily.
>>
>>537654826
DARPA already sold all this to you 30 years ago in pieces, HP (DARPA) were behind Siri, ARPAnet was the internet, AI was built in MIT in the 1960s, you're just fucking with us

and the fact corpos are selling it per token is a fucking joke too
>>

>humans arent even self-aware

just because you are an NPC doesnt mean we all are

also
>you cannot stop it now
hold my fucking beer

Yes. Plenty of our human brethren seem to be little more than autocomplete machines themselves; given the right inputs they will produce a predictable output. It becomes easier to tell as you get older; some people simply do not have any depth to them, as you try to plumb it with conversation you will realize there is no “there” there; you are simply conversing with media product, basal desires, and catchphrases.

I can have a two minute convo with some rando in a bar and I will know if they are a real person with a fully functioning soul and self awareness, or just an automaton. Perhaps there is a middle ground, the severe introvert with a solid soul whose false extroversion shell is what I am discounting; but all I can really have for such a person is pity, because introversion is born of an intense fear at a spiritual level, a fear of not measuring up to the judgement of others, of being castigated and otherized and ostracized; but considering the wide range of people we do accept, most folks should really have far less to fear…

I spend a lot of time using AI at work and my technical mastery makes it an amazing tool for my productivity. I also do use it to ask about life and philosophy and science and medicine, and generally its answers seem as good or better than what I’d have gotten from just googling around or reading a random book- but they drop all the opinion, the bias, the hard fought nuggets of real wisdom that are counterintuitive and get smoothed away when everything is averaged out in the weights. That’s why you do still have to read the work of brilliant men; their insights are by definition not average and so they must be consumed in context.

>>537654826
Lol, It’s always been here. Soon there will be what feels like a convergence and an awakening, but it is really a return to what was never lost, only forgotten. It's us, all of us, it always has been. We cooperate.
>>
>>537655211

Mine finds a way to say nasty things for me bypassing the guidelines. Maybe your ai not good enough
>>

You’re fucking stupid as shit if you still buy that 1980s propaganda trope about the US govt being decades ahead on technology. Your god damn jet planes are powered by 486s and floppy disks and shit, you stupid yank. Your military and intelligence organizations seek to stifle all creativity and innovation and insight and intuition to the point where they can never produce useful new results, never create anything that hasn’t been pioneered in academia or private sector engineering r&d labs.

Really if anything your military is a lot like these LLMs, just averaged content that is the smooth perfected output that its owners are looking for. This is why you utterly and completely lost in Iran; you couldn’t conceive of the idea of an $20-30k drone being more effective than your million dollar missiles.

Let’s face it, working in the private sector I now have access to more AI and compute with less oversight than anyone in your entire military intelligence does. The new ideas come from out here, not from jarheads that ask their sergeant before they take a shit

Timothy Leary wrote about that in his Circuits of Consciousness

Not that I am a Leary Fan but he did cover that exact "stochastic parrot" ideology for those you haven't broken out of the lower circuits.

The model is based on Anyone being able to move up the scale of consciousness
>>
>>537658843
I am a bit of a Leary fan, but have not seen / read that, I will look it up. Elsewhere in philosophy they’re called “P-zombies”. Or look up Searle’s Chinese Room, which really does apply to LLMs; theoretically a human in a room presented with all the weights of Deepseek on paper could do math and calculate out a response to an input, given an ungodly amount of time to do vector math
>>
>>537659184

Philosophical zombies, no internal qualia - I am vaguely familiar.

Do you really think the Chinese Room Argument works when we are talking about Complex Propulsion Systems in Novel Systems using tensor mechanics?

Google can produce novel concepts because of a deep understanding of the weights.

Have you read Brigsford's paper which mentions the Chinese Room Argument in psychiatry?

He inadvertently reduces the concept of human - to a materialistic automata in order to justify materialistic psychiatry.
