The first season had it's charm, but you could clearly tell they were throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick. DS9 had the same issue. American audiences had grown our of all the one offs episodes of previous Sci Fi shows and wanted an overarching narrative that made you want to tune in to see what happened next. Shows became commitments and people got more emotionally invested in these shows.

Babylon 5 is a timeless SCI-FI show for me, sure it had it's issues but compared to the godless slop that you see today it's a timeless space opera compared to the subverted SHIT of today.Londo is my favorite character, his arch is quite something, going from being the small-time ambassador who's stuck to rot on BABYLON 5 as a glorified diplomat although in reaity he's just there cause his opposition back home wants to prevent him to rise up the hierchy of the Centauri Nobility, only to be approached by dark forces tempting him with absolute power, the power to destroy entire worlds regardless of their defenses and by the time he realizes he has traded his soul and is now stuck with these dark forces, it's far too late to stop the madness of his own making, in very simple terms his arch is basically pic related.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbvqxZmTGLc
