why do Gen X and older drive around so much? do they still think its the same as when previous gens drove around all day because gas was so cheap back in the day? every Gen X+ i know spends like $1000+ in gas per month and drives HOURS every day.

zoomers dont drive at all. ever. almost.

they're trying to put more restrictions on e-bikes, scooters, and mopeds in my state because they hate to see people not waste as much money as they do on gas/insurance.

driving a fast car is fun
you should learn it someday

polluting your local air is actually based and redpilled conservatism

We who came before the internet have habits and behaviours that you often will not understand.
You must consider that our interests and thresholds were formed before we had endless information and entertainment available on demand in the palms of our hands.
For example, driving around can be an actual activity for us, we enjoy it.
And we visit each other in person. This is also an activity to us.

GenX did things that did not involve screens or phones. It was before tiktok. Now get back to scrolling zoomie.
>>
>>537680623
its literally unaffordable now and the main reason Gen X is all poor
>>
>>537680440
yea of course its enjoyable i am just saying its unaffordable. i'd do it too otherwise. although actually driving hours per day sounds a bit like a nightmare, maybe 1 hour per day

Growing up it was the only way to get away from parental oversight and achieve some autonomy. "Riding around" was pretty common small city activity for young people pre-cell phones. You had to go see where people were to socialize with them.

because you're fucking pussies who get "anxiety attacks" at the mere thought of taking a driver's test, grow a sack faggot

average zoomer makes $20/hr (i just checked) which is like making $2/hr in the 90s. otherwise we'd drive too and actually own stuff

>doing things without a screen is unaffordable
if you would stop staring at a screen for 2 uninterrupted seconds of your waking life for once, you would learn that this isn't actually true
>>
>>537680677
Nah, contrary to popular belief gas has not been really cheap since the 1970s. Inflation adjusted it was pretty similar to today's prices in the 80s and 90s. There were just fewer alternative ways to connect with people.
>>
>>537680826
No, you're just an excuse-making faggot. Stop doordashing every meal you lazy, stupid cunt.
>>
>>537680826
and keep in mind we zoomers are basically 30 at this point

Gen X? its fucking boomers driving to their boner pill appointments at the hospital. Go to your local hospital and see how fucking many boomers go thru the doors. It's amazing how fucking sick these people are. They must go in for every sniffle and cough. Grandma needs a new set of tits. Lets set up 10 appointments across town and drive in the left lane 5 under the speed limit.

>Grandma needs a new set of tits.
Well, let's not be unreasonable. Grandmas should have big honking DD's. Imagine how good they'll look in the casket.

I got my license in 1995. In the 90s the price of gas ways always around a buck--to maybe a 1.20. Just go watch movies from the 90s. Also if you were a cheap fuck you could find gas coupons on the back of receipts and in weekly free newspapers (we had the foxxy shopper). I Every time i'd put 5 or 10 bucks in i'd use a coupon and get a free gallon.

It seems like the biggest problem you are having is being bad at math. The inflation from 1990 to today is roughly 250%. Making $20 per hour today is like making $8 in 1990.
>>
>>537680994
Yeah, combine that with the fact that cars were generally less efficient and I would say driving around is not much more expensive today that it was back then. Maybe the cars themselves have gotten more expensive, but that is more due to regulatory requirements that at least have the benefit of cleaner air and less dying in accidents. People don't drive around now because they have a lot more options for entertainment and leisure at home.

>e-scooters
