I want you to look at this graph. You've seen it many times, yet *no one* seems to understand. It's the human population over time, and projected to be. The dot in blue may as well represent 1, 10, 100 years ago, but we'll choose roughly 70 years ago, a time where many complain and argue times were better. A time where hard work got you ahead, you could own a house, have a wife and kids, but no internet or other luxuries like air conditioning, no food seasons, and automated laundry. Growth was tremendous, really. You had onions that promoted that you were well taken care of. But as the cold war drew (fear of communism?), technologies arose, onions eroded. More corpos like Walmart, cubicles, immigrants, and women in the workforce. Which leads us to today, the green dot. Now it's not enough to just work hard, it's best to have some skills. With low barriers to entry, just almost anyone can work hard, with the exception of the old which are now becoming the majority. Growth is slowing, leading to longer renting, doom and gloom, breakdown of social aspects, lowering fertility (into LGBT?), etc. The purple dot. Here, growing the population would exceptionally difficult as it would drain resources that we cannot sustain. Skills should be at maximum, employing all technologies and such because by the time we hit the red dot, people again will have to work hard if they want to keep society alive.
