Reunion, Guyane, Polynesie, Guadeloupe, Corsica, New Caledonia, Martinique

They are each getting semi-country status pretty much. What does france get out of this? Will they all just leave eventually? Curious

>>537773242
yeah but they are all poised to act more like countries under a common french albeit less centralized rule
>>
>>537772747
We hope, except for Corsicans because thry are based.
>>
>>537772747
Are they made up by immigrant/migrants kek?
>>
>>537773746
they want to be their own ius generis semi-country

i'm just interested in what the contract is between france and these 7 "countries". are they all heavily subsidized? is it sustainable?

>>537773787
they all have interesting demographic profiles.
>>
>>537773901
>they all have interesting demographic profiles.
That's an interesting way of saying yes, the 7 new countries are made up by profiles of foreigners who just decided to enter the country without being vetted and now that whole continent much like ours here is JAMJEETED and completely ruined.
>>
>>537773901
the only contact is our money going in mutt-nigger shitholes

>That's an interesting way of saying yes
Not really. I had a feeling you would take it sarcastically but that's not what I was really trying to convey.

From left to right
Reunion is around just over half Creole (mixed African, European, Malagasy, and South Asian ancestry) and the rest is split between Europeans and South Asians with a small maybe 3-5% east asian minority

In Guyane, just over half are creole, too. 25% are Maroons, many from Suriname. These are Blacks who escaped slavery and lived in isolated areas to stay free. 10-15% are ethnic French/European, many working in space sector. 3-4% are Amerinidian (perhaps undercounted), and 1-2% are Hmong, who came after Indochina War due to being French loyalist. They produce most of the agriculture.

Like 4/5 of French polynesia are polynesian, a non-significant percent of whom have some European and Chinese ancestry as well. Around a tenth of the population are Europeans, and around a tenth are Chinese

Guadeloupe is very elderly and has a declining population of mostly Afro-Caribbeans/Creoles. Around 3/4. Around a tenth are Indians from British indentured servitude networks that brought Indians into the area. Around 2% are European. Rest are mostly Haitian migrants, with some Lebanese and Chinese too.

Corsica is majority Corsican. A lot of Corsicans left the island and settled in Southern France, especially Marseille. They are a group most similar in culture and genetics to other Italians. Almost 30% of the population on Corsica was born in Mainland France, although many of those may be of Corsican descent. Around a tenth are foreign immigrants, mostly from Southern Europe and smaller amounts of North Africans, including Pied Noirs

New Caledonia is very interesting. Around 40% are indigenous Kanak, who are black in Color and are a Melanesian group. A quarter of the population are descendants of European settlers, along with smaller modern Metropolitan migration. Around a tenth of the population is mixed. Around a tenth are from Wallis and Futuna, a small French colony in the Pacific. Most came for economic opportunities as it has more jobs. The last 15% are various other Oceanian groups as well as Southeast Asians and descendants of Algerian penal convicts

Finally, Martinique is the other antillean "country" owned by France. Has 350k people, similar to Guadeloupe. Both islands used to each have around 400k. Both have extremely low birth rates as well as emigration causing significant population decline. Both have very high median ages. The vast majority at 90% are African/Creole. 5% Indian, 4% European, 1% lebanese/chinese
>>
>>537774028
>who just decided to enter the country without being vetted
They always had French citizenship and free passage to “Metropolitan France”. Technically it’s all France and it’s illegal to say they aren’t French.

Overseas France is managable. Except for Mayotte. They gotta cut that island off. Just get all the french military and civil servants, put them on a plane, bomb the airport runway after taking off, and adieu

>>
>>537774815
nah i knew about them. but they are hidden for most people.

france though literally hides mayotte. specificall y that one island in africa that they own. because it's so bad in terms of poverty, education, income, health, etc, etc. they don't want people to see it thus they literally exclude it from national statistics.
>>
>>537772747
Perhaps more votes in the UN? The US has essentially always bought votes from island nations to manipulate UN elections. If france gets seven more votes from islands they already pay gibs for anyway, that makes sense.
>>
>>537772747
They're called "Territoires Ultramarins" (overseas territories), except for the Corsicans who are called goat herders mafiosis.
That's why the frenchies chuckle when they see pic.

We never voted directly for Mayotte to become a French department; it was imposed on us by Parliament. Fuck Mayotte
>>
>>537772747
Superpowers by 2030 you better buckle up joe
>>
>>537776351
Yes, fuck Mayotte. there's approximately half a million people on that island now. France spends upwards of 3 billion euros on that island per year and gets jack shit in return. And in fact those civil servants from France could be working in France instead.

France was so stupid to let Mayotte stay. Now it has an unmitigated mess on its hands to keep dealing with.

Corsicans : "You can make fun of us, but dont."
"You act like you're from the continent."
"We condemn terrorism, but bombing town hall, killing a French Prefect is ok."

For a continental French, a Corsican speaks with a weird Italian accent, and they dont pronounce certain last vowels in Corsican names :
Ajaccio is pronounce "AjAcc", Porto-Vecchio is "Portt-Vech", Bonifaccio is "BOniFAs".
Etc.

grazie fratello.

i never met a corsican before.

but i think france tried to centralize too much and corsicans were the only ones to fight back well enough against it

No such thing, the republic isn't France and all prefects deserve this fate.

>france tried to centralize too much and corsicans were the only ones to fight back well enough against it
You're quite right about that.
Another is that the Corsicans never collaborate with the Germans in WW2, not quite like the Frenchies and Italians from the continent.
