I saw a thread yesterday about euro ac and how cheap window units are banned in many places, requiring expensive professionally installed Mini splits. Because I pitty our europoor brethren i have developed a solution that will work in any 1-bedroom apartment or above. Pic rel
>>
So you're trying to use desktop pc airflow principles on an entire apartment
>>
>>537789911
So the window ac is dumping the heat into the bedroom
Using this logic you can just open the fridge door to cool the room
>>
>>537790283
That actually does work
>>
>>537790311
Explain where the heat goes in that scenario

A lot of ppl sleep on box fans, even the smaller versions that the blades can spin opposite direction for exhaust.
If you get enough and place them in the correct windows according to your house's natural wind flow patterns you can easily drop inside temps by 10 degrees.
>>
>>537789911
>cheap window units are banned in many places, requiring expensive professionally installed Mini splits
just get one of these, it's not a window unit, only vents the hear out the window
>>
>>537790368
Oh God, it's Indian...
>>
>>537789911
So per this..*ahem*..diagram, the small bedroom is cooled while the larger room is actively heated.
Never go full retard.
>>
>>537790452
Costs euros $40/day to run that
>>537790500
No seriously where do you think a refrigerator dumps the heat
>>
>>537790579
>Costs euros $40/day to run that
they do not use that much electric, lol
>>
>>537790368
Do you understand how refrigeration works? There's coolant and dissipators and air is pushed through, which cools it rapidly via convection, then you open your fridge door and the hot air magically gets cooler. Something to do with heat-transference and conduction.

Do you think the cold air "goes" somewhere when the sun comes up and it gets hotter?
>>
>>537790432
>versions that spin opposite ways
Nigger you know you can just turn a box fan around to accomplish this, right?
>>
>>537789911
Just build a fort and add a fan you pathetic retards.

no the ac is dumping the hot air into the room with the open window and keeping the sealed bedroom cool. you could do the reverse just turn the thing around and open the bedroom window and put the box fan in there, close the others and flip the ac around.
>>
>>537790652
To run 2 single ton units in Germany all day it costs 30 euros so pretty much 35 usd
Unless you're going to just put 1 in your living room and sleep in the heat
>>537790784
Oh yeah good one
>>
>>537790452
this requires a retarded american vertically sliding window
we don't do that in Europe
>>
>>537789911
>requiring expensive professionally installed Mini splits.
God help us and save us. Hanging and connecting mini-split AC "line sets" (i.e. pre-insulated refrigerant piping) is easier than setting up a new steam profile.
the most difficult part about installing a split system is pouring the 4foot square concrete pad outside.
OP, it doesn't get any gayer than (you)
>>
>>537791093
>Unless you're going to just put 1 in your living room and sleep in the heat
just get like 2 fans and direct the cold air from the unit, it's not hard at all, whole house is cool from 1 unit

>>537791108
>this means our a/c options are extremely limited but your windows are still the retarded ones
ok
>>
>>537790311
It does not. The heat rejected is equal to the heat removed from the air. Its even worse than a break even as the heat of compression adds to the system. It actually heats the room if there is no outlet.

Don't believe me? Try it for yourself. Then ask yourself why no one has figured this out by now...
>>
>>537789911
bro in the UK they can't open their windows more than a few inches because they government doesn't want them killing themselves kek
>>
>>537789911
I'm just not gonna tip
sorry
>>
the main thing that limits a unit's ability to cool an entire house is the weak fans inside the unit
get one of these bitches and stick it right in front of the blowers
>>

>>537790997
I see but it would be quite challenging to do that in the UK because you must hold a valid “Window Opener” licence to operate on anything window related.

>>537791510

>>537791316
>whole house is cool from 1 unit
Cooler than it would have been but youre definitely not cooling a house from a single portable unit unless you live in a shed
Wouldn't even cool a 700sqft apartment properly. But yeah still the best option. Probably better to just wheel it around and keep your rooms isolated from eachother when youre in them.
>>
let the euros burn

>>
>>537791504
Thank you, comrade. Tell your friends to do the same so we can put an end to this tipping culture bullshit
>>
>>537791506
Yea at this point i don't even know what OP is even trying to do.
I used to just put a huge fan near the door of the room the splitter unit was in to push the cold air outside to other parts of the apartment
>>
>>537791622
see >>537791506
if you have strong fans it's fine
only insufficient if your house has multiple floors, a rancher is perfectly fine with it though
>>
>>537791560
they'd need to borrow or rent that weapon of mass destruction from the local sandnigger rape gang / vape shop.

honestly way better than another twtter screenshot OP

>>
>>537791506
>>537791506
>the main thing that limits a unit's ability to cool an entire house is the weak fans inside the unit
you have zero grasp of refrigeration. The limiting factor is the size of the coils. The unit can only reject as much heat as they can absorb. Lets call that 100% of its capacity, now you want to spread that 100% from say 300sq.ft to 1000sq.ft. Its like trying to spread the same amount of butter that would cover a piece of toast across the whole loaf.
>>
>>537791773
I tried to dumb it down as much as possible. I failed. You get to cool one room, like the one stubborn grandma is in roasting to death while venting the exhaust heat to the other side of the house that is vented to atmosphere. see
>>537790997
>>
>>537791805
Nah not a portable. They are usually 14000btu max which isnt much. Just a cheap minisplit can have ~3x as much capacity.
>>
>>537791773
it's basically using one room as the "outside" and one room as the target A/C room. instead of having to get it installed outside which seems to be the whole issue.
>>
>>537792119
thanks anon you get it
>>
>>537792039
>you have zero grasp of refrigeration.
you have zero grasp of air circulation and flow
>>
>>537792074
I have cooled my entire own house with one so you're mistaken
it's entirely about controlled airflow
>>
>>537792408
Cooled it by a couple degrees at best
>>
>>537791510
Can't you just turn the cable so it pops out and you can open the window? My cousin put those on all her windows when my niece was born and they're "child proof" in the same way pill bottles are. You're not stupider than a child, are you anon?
>>
>>537792322
I don't think I can dumb this down anymore for you than I already have anon. Good luck out there!
>>
gases move the same way water does, more or less
all you have to do is direct that the same way you would with a fluid current

>>
>>537792571
idk man that old freon they banned was some epic shit. Granny had a window UNIT that just dumped out frosted air and cooled an entire 2 story home
>>
>>537792643
But youre trying to fill a much larger volume with the same amount of cooled gas.
>>
>>537793046
so the a/c stops kicking out cold air at some point? or if you keep the air circulating from it, does new warm air not get circulated for it to cool?
>>
it doesn't have a cutoff where it says "I cooled [x] volume of air so sleep time"
>>
it all averages out so the entire house gradually gets cooled, if you're making sure the air is flowing right

Impossible to understand.
Wall heights are even different. Wtf is that
>>
>>537792923
That was prob air flow doing a thing. Air flow exited somewhere on the 2nd floor and nowhere on the first.
>>
>>537791485
Or likely… committing the terrible crime of installing an air conditioner in the window.
>>
>>537793174
>>537792039 is right, size matters
The unit isnt thinking about area, it tries to reach the set temperature no matter what. If its not possible it will just keep running but it physically won't be able to cool it.
>>
>>537793509
>it tries to reach the set temperature no matter what. If its not possible it will just keep running but it physically won't be able to cool it.
but I'm telling you, it is possible, as long as you're using fans to force the air in the entire house to circulate
those BTU numbers only mean anything when you're NOT directing the flow of air with anything else, that's the maximum it can do on its OWN
>>
>>537791108
A lot of windows here open horizontally actually. You can twist the exhaust vent 90 degrees to work with those.
>>
>>537793609
No that's not how it works my man, they're not magic units that can create cold out of nothing just because you put a fan near it.
They have valves and compressors that can only move a certain amount of refrigerant, you have to evaporate the refrigerant inside of the indoor coil while you blow air over it from the fan inside the unit, this captures the heat and you release it outside but you have to wait for the refrigerant to cycle through the outdoor coil and turn back into a liquid so you can evaporate it inside again. It can only cool so much.
>>
>>537792074
>14kbtu's
lol they are not close to that, minsplits can vary with some 6kbtu's, others 12k-18kbtu's. But really it's about the efficiency, minisplts are around 95% efficient, the portable ones are terrible.

*if the air in the room it's set up in with the WEAK FANS the units have in them
that are nothing compared to one of these let alone a few of them
if you've not done it of course you don't know it's possible
you can chatGPT how an a/c functions all you like but it's never done this IRL either
I have
