So the Strait of Hormuz has recently let out oil tankers that were trapped there for months but no new tankers have pulled in to fill up. Some 20 million barrels came out of it, but no new tankers have gone back into it. There are news articles talking about this, but they never put into perspective what is actually occurring. Iran is letting these tankers out so that starving crews dont crash them into harbors and fill the Hormuzzy up with oil spills

Do we even need the strait or Iranian oil? Just get it elsewhere and let the region descend back into bronze age savagery. Oil companies will have me killed for saying this but it is 50 years past the point at which we should have switched to nuclear nationwide. Execute NIMBYists and build a plant in every major city, the tech is RIGHT THERE and you can use it but you choose not to because it isn't as profitable.
