Why the fuck is it 30 degrees celcius in my house? Why do we dislike comfort so much? From age 6 to age 18 I had to cycle 20 minutes to school and 20 minutes back every day, no matter the conditions. Kids lose their gloves and parents will just let them go without. I have permanent minor hand injuries from this. Kids don't want to wear rain suits because they look stupid, so they'll rather sit in class soaking wet. For like 3 years I had a bike with no brakes on it and nobody ever told me not to ride it to school. In Holland we eat cold breakfast and lunch. Most people's breakfast and lunch consists of sliced bread with 1 ingredient in between. We load our laundry machines from the front so that we have to bend over. We use furniture that looks pretty and sits badly. We don't offer public toilets in most establishments. Doctor's will prescribe you literally nothing for a flu. If you go there, he tells you to wait for it to go away. One time as a kid I had such a high fever that I started hallucinating, I didn't see a doctor.Meanwhile, the amerimutt gets driven to school in a car that's larger than some europoors' bedroom. He then eat pizza at school, goes home and lays down in a chair that looks like it belongs in a massage parlor and has cup holders and a fridge built in. When the amerimutt gets older and fatter, he drives his comfort mobile to walmart where he walks 20 meters to a mobility scooter that's sitting there ready for him. He then picks one of the 150 varieties of chips and one of the 700 varieties of soda to consume on his way to his doctor's appointment where he will get his fat body optimally running by the use of modern medicine, and to up his dosage for his opiates.And is his life expectancy a lot shorter? No, it's not.
Lack of clothes dryers is something that struck me when I lived in Europe.

It took us 20 years of living in our then new house in the hottest part of Spain (south east) before my dad finally gave in to installing AC. It had absolutely nothing to do with money; it's just a mentality that was around for waay too long. Most people in Spain have become dependent on AC now, which isn't great either, but considering our 35+C summers (≈95F), it took an absurd amount of time.With respects to other aspects such as bigger cars, it definitely becomes a financial matter though. Fuel is like 6-8 USD per gallon for you burgers' information. But hey, we can still see a dermatologist for free after waiting 3 months!

Pizza was a crap option at my high school, they served up sloppy joes, chicken fried steak, and there was even this cart that did teriyaki and rice, piping hot. Our cafeteria had soda machines, and a student shop that sold flavored icees, I always got an orange flavored one once it got hot out. Sipped my icee, ate my teriyaki on rice, then went back to my air conditioned classroom to do some light reading before class started.
