Would be a first for the EU to expand this way so there are sure some debates to come but personally I guess it's very much possible in the end they're just allowed to join you along with some kind of plan being implemented to provide some EU funds to help get them on track.

Why not? Because else, would this new state have to go through the candidate process again? Then you're effectively out of the EU again for the time being? Sounds more than silly.

>>537812779It'll happen eventually I believe. There's too much to gain for everyone involved, the Moldovans, you the Romanians, us the rest of the EU. It's a long journey since it's all new ground for the EU but I don't see any reason why we wouldn't walk it to the end eventually.
