I have a mitsubishi air conditioning unit thats mounted on my wall but i mever used it because i dont get hot enough to need it. Seems wasted since it cost me a lot to get it.
Those standup units are terrible once you see how expensive they are on the electric bill, the problem is difficult to notice, every gallon of hot air pushed out of the window has to come back in, as hot air somewhere else. The units where air doesn't go out of the building are up to 300% more efficient, in cooling per watt, than the regular window units, or the closed circuit heat pumps. If the unit relies on pushing hot air out of the house, you're going to absolutely notice that in the electric bill. Closed circuit heat pumps are much better than in-place air conditioners. The cold air in the house, must remain in the house. No circulation from outside.

They dump heat back into the room and only a small fraction makes it out of that hose. You are much better off using a window unit but I understand that many apartments do not allow them.Keep that hose as short as possible, you can also aluminium-foil the hose or replace it with HVAC-grade tubing which is foiled already to reflect infrared heat back into the tube and avoid warming the room. Your machine can get colder the more efficient your make the heat dissipation.
