Cities would be a shitshow and the countryside would see sporadic fighting. Key points would be the corn belt to secure food and feed, various coastal areas, as well as the Mississippi delta since the river cuts the nation in half. The rust belt would probably get a decent amount of attention as well due to its importance for potential industrial revamping and output and the Great Lakes being key points of distribution among the region. The Gulf of course will also see a fair bit of action.
