Is it really that hot in Europe at the moment?
A price of 5,000 euros is absolutely crazy.
>>
Similar products cost less than 210 euros in China.
>>
Even the most expensive air-conditioner model from Midea costs just 724 euros.
How on earth does Europe manage to sell a rubbish portable air-conditioner for a staggering 5,000 euros?

This item is definitely not worth 849 euros.
At least 50% of the price is made up of import taxes.
Why don’t Europeans install air conditioning when they build houses?
As a result, when the weather gets hot, everyone scrambles to find an air conditioner first.
>>
>>537832821
I have 3 of those in my homes for decades, normal walled ones. I dont know what you are talking about everyone I knw has several. I do know you are full of shit on prices.
What we can see its opposite. Germany is cheaper than China for mideas portable AC.
For example 200e unit in china vs 80 for same thing in Germany.

>>
>>537832997
Or they don't need one, or they are rentoids and aren't allowed to install one, or they live in a historic building and aren't allowed to deface the façade, but that's mostly the case for Northern Europe. In Greece they are pretty ubiquitous nowadays, and by that I mean a mini-split in every room. In the 90s, it was commonplace for most apartments to have at least one mini-split installed. We had ours in the living room, my friend's parents had one in their bedroom, etc.
>>

People in norway dont have them so americans think all of europe is completely unaware that ac even exists. Its like they never go to mediterranean on hollidays.

The German guy is also full of shit. These things used to be 300 now they sell them for 1400.

Germanistan has this culture where the MUST suffer. And then they are prooud of it and defend it. Its really ingraned in their brains. Swiss germans have this too and its so tireing. They are proud of having a shit gov. Shit laws. Shit life quality. Like that is something to be proud of because it "builds character" or whatever the fuck they tell themselves to fall asleep in their 40C bedroom. They will actively attack you for pointing out that their entire system is retarded and at this point exists just to fuck the average German over at every corner. They will fight and die on that hill. Its all so tiresome.

Air conditioning prices really shouldn’t be rising to this extent. €1,400 is absolutely ridiculous.

>Certified installers
I’ve heard that air-conditioning installation services in Europe are monopolised by trade associations.
If you want to have an air-conditioner fitted, you must choose an air-conditioning engineer who is a member of a trade association. Prices range from a few hundred to several thousand euros.
If you choose to offer air-conditioning installation services at a low price without obtaining a trade association licence, the European trade associations will actually call the police to have you arrested.
The extremely high installation costs are also one of the reasons for the low penetration rate of air-conditioning in European countries.

Caus their retardation permeates to Swiss Germans and because of that my life is harded : Eg we cant build centralized AC in our houses Switzerland because "its bad for the environment" (courtezy of Swiss Germans).Meanwhile 60% of the electricity comes from Dams in the alps and everyone and their mother is buying the shitty "removable" ZERO efficiency models for 1400 Euro instead.
What kind of bullshit is this? Its a free country. I spend money for my electricity and spend it any way I see fit. What the fuck is this German mindset of the governement being your mom and telling you what is bad? Fuck off with this Germanic bullshit its a free country.
I love germans but their mindset when it comes to Government is utterly cucked since 1945. They will literally destroy their country (and make everyone's lives actively worse) to have "the moral high ground". Whatever the fuck that means in their 80IQ sculls.
>>
How come there's like 2 or 3 portable models in existence like the Midea that are split?
It's the way to go, and that shit already existed in the 80's, but disappeared for less efficient shit. The only other splits that exists are for camping car, but unsuited for homes obviously as they'd be too small.
What the fuck is wrong with the market. Why did it shift to retarded inefficient not-splitted shit.

>>

I could have them drill the wall and just install split AC system on my old house. But every year I'm like do i really need to do some construction shit for what like just 2-3weeks of scorching heat per year?

So i rather every year just use noisy shit portable AC

If i lived in australia or some desert shithole, yes then it would be worth it to have permanent AC, but currently for those few weeks per year i dont care (and the rest of the europe too)....

Remember, the eurogoy niggercattle pays his entire life in taxes. Centuries of having their men slaughtered and women bred by their masters has left their blood mongrelized. The docile eurogoy is receptive to any demands his Lord puts on him.

Fees and taxes built into the price of these units makes them 3 times more expensive than what a Canadian pays for a similar unit. Luckily for the collective mass of eurocattle they will be mostly brown turkoids in a few generations and have no need for cool air.

>>
The portasplit is an interesting product because it's literally the ONLY consumer grade portable split ac in existence.
>>
>>537834610
Yes but then there is some technological skill of tightening the lines, pulling a vacuum, checking the vacuum with gauges, installing an AC cut off, running Romex Cable.

Then Knowing how to pump it down to the compressor when you plan to remove it.

The other mini split is for rentoids and eurocucks. Theres added value in not having to do all that to set it up and move it around.

T. got that model 12,000 BTU running on Solar panels to cut my Summer electric bills and have it for in case an Ice storm knocks power out since you can run in in reverse as a heater.

>>537832725
What he said lol.
>>
>>537832658
899 is the daily rental fee, try again.
>>
>>537838254
My math is its max 1.5 kwh for 12,000 BTU. At a price of 10 US cents per Kilowatt. So 7 hours of running it at a cost of 15 cents an hour is a dollar per day. Of course I try to use mine to dump over production of Solar Panels into. So I can run it for free, when I do run it.
>>
>>537847197
Right now I have 600 watts of solar coming in at a 46% battery charge. So the 350 watt load on it is matched and some is starting to enter the battery. Later the battery will be 100% then I turn on the mini split to run the approximate 1.7 KWH solar coming in and not going anywhere.

All portable air conditions are very loud, the piping has to be put out the window and they have to be kept short or they don't work properly, you have to cover the window well or the hot air will blow back in, they are expensive in europe due to crazy power prices and they create a negative air pressure situation (which means air from other places pushes into the room)

they suck, but if you are boiling your nuts off then do the job as a cold blowing fan. move out of the fan range and the rook is still hot though, unless you seal the room really well

Loud and not as effective as a porta split. I have one in the living room tho the porta split is a bit more quiet and doesn't draw that much electricity in my bedroom

A shoddy installation job means a falling hunk of metal weighing over 100 pounds making an innocent person go squish. Of course, that's not a big issue in thirdie land where life is cheap.
>>
>>537836694
>tfw this shit is illegal in Europoors
I'm really considering just making my own f-gas license, just to not pay some shmuck $300 for an hour of work. Well, actually I don't need a license at all, but the installation with usual splits isn't as straightforward as with the units in your picture. You have to make the connections by yourself and also you need a vacuum pump

AI generated answer is the effect of such megatons of heat is actually negligible source? FUCKING REDDIT!! TRUSTED SOURCE!!
>>
>>537851739
Yes everytime a nuke is tested the effect is releasing a mini sun in the atmosphere. If you look at the nothing burger of the hockey stick graph this can be attributable to absolute retardation.

I see, so not all of the heat of the sun then?

I certainly agree that you should get a skilled tradesperson to install your air-conditioner.
However, I don’t want the trade association to maliciously inflate prices by creating a monopoly.
That said, how much does it cost to have an air-conditioner installed where you live?
In China, the cost of installing an air-conditioner is generally less than 100 euros.
>>
>>537852014

not illegal but tiresome harsh to get a loicense
>get permit from landlord or if you own the apartment in a city permit from all neighbors
>get permit from the city because "stadtbild" or other bullshit like "denkmahlschutz"
>building inspection by the city to check how loud the streets of the surrounding is and checking of the unit you want to install
>needs specialist firm to install it and not one self

Why are you lying chinkset?
>>
>>537852229
the units the burger showed are illegal, because they don't require any of this f-gas shit. The lines contain the gas already. You just screw them on. No vaccuum pump, no copper lines etc
>>
>>537852401
You just screw them on? You tighten them to torque(which torque measure turns out to be complete bullshit) So screw it down until it feels good then double check that work by pulling a vacuum and reading a gauge set to check the fittings you just tightened. Also on the new ones if it leaks you leak a proprietary blend of propane.
>>
>>537851739
We could actually use nuclear weapons to nuke the ice caps and create global cooling, but it would absolutely piss off the US as they would lose like 90% of their usable land and make Russia a sea super power
>>
>>537850842
>>
>>537852682
I dont know wtf was going on with torque spec but 1 you need to do special math because you need to crows foot the torque wrench and 2 theres 5 different torque measurement systems, so it looks like in my manual China just wrote some shit feeling the torque by hand wrenching it down. Way over torque based on the manuals suggested torque spec.
>>
>>537852682
your point being? I'm just saying we can't import this stuff
Although I wonder if it would be stopped if I used intermediary shipping company
>>
>>537853119
I also used nylog blue which is a Fluid gasket tho.

Pricing like this encourages companies to stockpile things that have very spikey demand. This is a feature of capitalism not a bug. Anyone who disagrees is a retarded retard who will not be allowed to live in the BSA (the Based States of America) after balkanization
>>
>>537853208
If were talking about the same mini splits you said you dont pull a vac and read the vac on gauges to check the flare connections you tightened for leaks. For Me you definitely do because its easy insurance to keep the refrigerant you cant find and nobody is going to charge the unit back. If the unit leaks its coolant its fucked. You buy a new one, is the feasible option. It sounds like your gov. have outright banned their import?
>>
>>537853370
well, then maybe check the thing I'm referring to first, before posting
>>
>>537853370
I meant the DIY version from this picture >>537836694
the lines are under pressure and you don't need vacuum stuff
