i live in currently 3rd poorest shithole in europe and i've had AC for the past 25 years, 90% of people i know have it, it costs like $800 with installation, probably even cheaper out of season for the cheapest units and it costs about $40 per summer to run almost 24/7.

no idea how this retarded meme still gets propagated.

I fucking hate air conditioning. It never gets warm here in Ontario not even during peak summer. I intentionally sleep in a room with all the most heat in the house and it's still often not enough for me.

No. Most of these heat deaths are old dying from ''natural causes'' and usually don't get the ''died from heat'' label put on them. So instead they used excess deaths during heatwaves to get a more accurate picture.

The truth is, the houses in europe as old and not prepared for such cooling systems. They are just not built for it. And that's why there's no AC, cause making a house for it is expense and there regulations over regulations and taxation over taxation and in the end they take a chunk out of you in electricity bill.

Shitmericans are so fucking dumb. I live in Italy where I have AC in my entire apartment. Growing up I’ve never lived in a place without AC, and every single business has it. The ones who don’t have it are central-northern Europeans, because it was never really needed until a few years ago. Reminder that Europe is way up north compared to the US, and sensibly colder too.
